Nesting part three - Klaire's letters

Here's phase one of Klaire's letters. Someone was asking me how to do them. It's super easy. First you but the paper out and glue it to the letter. (You put it face down on the back of the paper and trace the letter onto the back of the paper.) After the glue dries I either cut the excess paper off or I sand it off. Remember if you don't cut exactly right or something.....you can always fix it later.) I also like to use a sealer to put on the top of the paper too to make sure the paper doesn't start to come off. That's why I use Mod Podge glue because it's a glue and a sealer. Then after it dries you simply add the ribbon and embellishments. Here's where you can fix any imperfections with your cutting techniques (especially if you're like me) by simply covering them with the embellishments. Just add the buttons, ribbon, and flowers. I add a little 3 dimensional paint too just for kicks! And then Voila...you're done!

Cougar Crop

Man, was this thing fun this year. I had a great time. Mindy arrived bright and early to pick me up at 7:45 from my house and off we went to Kentucky to scrapbook from 9to9. I heard that there was around 130 women there crafting away! I got a ton of pages done as did everyone who went. Mindy won a Cricut...thanks to me.....(long story there), and man, I'm already looking forward to next year's crop. (Oh, and by the way...I stole all the pictures from the collage above from my friend, Candace's blog.)
Here's my favorite pages that I did while I was there.

Scrappin' Machine

I've been scrapping like crazy lately. However, it's going so quick because...like I stated on my other blog...I've been using kits. I've been adding a little bit here and there, and it's causing me to get a lot done. And everyone knows that I need to get a lot done. Here's a link to my other blog if you want to see some other pages. I've been literally scrapping late at night usually watching A-team online (I loved that show when I was little.), and during the kids' naps. The older boys love it because it means that they can play Halo. Oh, and this one is one of my favorites too because it combines my two favorite colors...which I would normally never do, but the page kit did it. I added the big orange flowers and the small red hearts. These pictures went perfect with the kit, huh?
I really love this page. The green paper and the brown stripe are the only things from the page kit that I used. The blue flower is from another page kit. Anyways, I love this page because if you look at the top left corner, it shows Eric and Blake walking hand in hand. And although you probably can't see it too well, in the bottom right corner, it shows Eric walking with all the boys.
This is my niece Taylor. I used the green paper from this page kit too. The rest is all mine. The words and date are cut out by my cool Cricut machine. I wanted to make it very, very girly. That's why I used lots of flowers.
See how behind I am.....this is from April of '06.
Here's just a whole bunch of pictures that I put randomly together that talks about how blessed I am.

Crop it up!!!!

Yesterday I went to an all day scrapbook crop with my friend Mindy. It was awesome. It was from 9-9, and I felt like I got tons done. My goal was to get 25 complete layouts done. I didn't quite meet the goal, but I did pretty weel. I think my total for the day was 30 pages...which included some one page layouts, but mostly 2 page layouts. I got all my Easter photos done from 2006 along with the boys' soccer pages, and most of the July 4th party that we had in 2006. Yup, that's how far I'm behind.
(Okay, Mindy, if you're reading this....this is where you might want to stop reading because I'm about to gloat about my prizes now! Gloat might be too strong of a word to use...I'm about to share my joy of my prizes.)
So I won some prizes while I was there, six to be exact. I took a picture of my three favorite ones (so as not to rub it in to Mindy too much). These are do-it yourselves kits that include all the stuff to make home decorations. I have a clock, the words HOME, and a clip board. They had a big wheel to spin, and depending on what you landed on, depended on what table you were able to draw from. I ended up getting to choose from table three three times!!! My other prizes included a Anna Griffin Paper pack, some pregnant stickers, and a bottle of paint. Who-heee!!!

This brings me to my next announcement. I've decided to start another blog that's dedicated to scrapbooking stuff. I don't really scrapbook that often, but when I do...I want to post some things...like reviews of products and special techniques. Anyways, the point is...not everyone that reads this blogs cares about that sort of thing, so I'm gonna start a new one that will only be updated occasionally when I finish a new page or try a new product or technique. I'm pretty excited about it though. To see it, click here: my new blog, Scrap-N-Chat. (Okay, all you non-scrappers out there, stop rolling your eyes and laughing at me!)

PS: Thanks, Mindy, for inviting me to the crop, and for putting up with me. I can't wait till next year.

PPS Oh yeah, and for all those who are wondering who watched the kids. Yes, you might need to make sure you're sitting when you read this: Eric watched them all day long by himself. And he only called one time for help. (I on the other hand called home quite a few times.) He did great! Thanks, Eric, for watching the kids. It was nice to have a break!

been Scrapbooking

I was feeling overwhelmed with how far behind I was with scrapbooking. (I know, I know...some people are much further behind than I am..) So I've decided to scrap my current photos....and then work backwards. I'm using some PINK now. Yay! I'll be thankful for my blog when I get to my older pictures, so I can remember what exactly went along with the pictures. Blogging is great for scrapbooking. While scrapbooking, I've been watching Gilmore Girls Season 1 because I can't scrapbook in silence. I love that show. I'm still sad that it's not on anymore. It's so witty and relaxing to watch. There's nothing quite as funny on TV.

Ornaments

Here's what we did today. Aren't these the cutest little things?? They are square glass ornaments with three fingers painted on them. Then we decorated them to look like snowmen. We used Makenna's hand on a round one for her. I saw this idea online, so take none of the credit on this one, but it was fun and easy.

Christmas cards

Made my Christmas cards. I made 60 of them.....crazy!!! I've never made that many before. I got done a little early this year compared to last year anyways. Instead of just making one card type, I made a whole bunch of different ones. I got most of them addressed and in the mail. We didn't get a family picture in them this year though, so don't be too disappointed!

new pages

Here's some pages I've done in the past couple of months. I'm seriously trying to simply get caught up on my pictures. I'm still over a year behind. So, well, here they are:
My favorites are the family picture page that has a big white flower on it, and I also like the then & now page of Eric and his siblings. The older picture is from 1983 and the newer one is from 2000. They're both toward the bottom. Oh, and I like the catch one too..but that's probably just because it's orange.

5 years

It's been five years since my dad passed away, and well, it still feels like yesterday on some days. Of course, we've had three more children since then, and....well....I wish he was here to play with them. He would have so loved them. Anyways, I made a little album that tells some of the things I still miss. There were more things that I missed obviously, but the album was pretty little, so it only go the top few. (On a side note: I'm seriously liking making these little albums. I feel like I'm getting a lot done and well...there just fun to experiment with!)

Luke's verses to grow on album

Made a new album. I took these pictures of Luke last fall. You probably remember them from these pictures. I didn't want to put them in his regular album because well, there was so many of them and I didn't want a million scrapbook pages on just these pictures, so I decided to do a mini album. I used an old board book that we had that the kids never looked at anymore, and then I went to town on it. I glue, painted, distressed, stamped, and just had fun. I don't normally scrap like this, but it was fun to try something new. I used some quotes that I had already bought from forever ago and then found a verse to correspond with them. Hence the reason it's called the verse to grow on album. I'm thinking about giving it to him for his birthday.

New Albums

I made these in the past two nights. They are accordion albums. They were pretty easy. One is made in an Altoid tin box, and the other is in my old Fossil Watch box. My goal was to make them very quick and simple. One is a gift.....(even though she's probably reading this now...just pretend you don't see it) and the other is for Moi! I've never really made anything like this before, at least not this small, so it was kinda fun trying something new.

Blake's invites

His birthday is in a couple of weeks. I can't believe he's going to be SEVEN! Blake decided that for his birthday, he wanted to have a small party at the park. There are mostly girl kids in our church, and they are mostly younger than him, so this proved to be a problem for him because we all know that he is not liking girls right now. I let him decide who he would invite to his party. Of course, he chose the Hall's....right off the bat. And he went on to chose a few more people. He passed out his own invities. He cracked me up when he told me he gave one to an older man in our church. It was pretty cute. So, anyways, if you're a friend of mine, and you didn't get an invite....well, it's not my fault.....blame Blake!

Shopping and a Park

So, thanks to my friend Amy calling me on Wednesday, my friend Mindy went to Target and bought all these cool scrapbooking things in the $$$ spot. Then thanks to Mindy, I went to Target today..and well....spent a little bit of money. See!!!!!! In the first picture everything was only a dollar. Then second picture is stuff I got from Big Lots. Thanks a lot you evil friends. You guys are bad influences!!!
Since the boys behaved so well while I was shopping, I took them to the park afterwards. Took a couple pics while I was there.

These make me chuckle

I'm so behind on my scrapbooking that I'm finally getting around to February of last year...sad, huh?? But I did these page, and makes me laugh. It's of me surprising the stink out of Eric when I gave him his X-box 360 for our anniversary/birthday present. And then this other page makes me laugh because it's when Eric got his silly big screen for his computer. The journalings are the funniest part. I hope you can read them if you click on the picture.

Friends

I did these pages today of me and my friends. One is of a surprise party when I turned 28. It was awesome. The other is just a night out when we went to Chilis and then back to someone's house to scrapbook. Fun!!! We don't get to see each other as often, but when we do it's usually fun times. I miss hanging out as much as we used to. Those were the days. But as we all know...lives get busier and sometimes it hard to find time for fun. Anyways, all you friends of mine who are reading this...know that I still think you are all cool, and I miss hanging out as much!!!!

Scrapbooked

I've been wanting to scrapbook for awhile, but finding time is pretty difficult now. I started at midnight, and finished this afternoon. This isn't a typical "Marshan" page, but
I wanted to try some new stuff. It was fun. Notice the page is a dark pink...is that bad?? Luckily, Jakeb is the only kid who likes pink, so I figured I could get away with it. Unfortunately, when I showed him the page, he told me that he doesn't like pink anymore. Oh well... Here's the actual pages above, and below is some close-ups.
Even Jakeb liked it. I caught him staring at it later.

It's NSD!!!

That would be National Scrapbooking Day for all you non-scrappers out there!!! Sad, but true...we scrapbookers have our own holiday! It's basically a ploy to get more business for all the companies out there, but hey, it's still cool that we have our own "holiday" too.

So, you might be wondering what I did on NSD. Did I scrapbook??? Uhhhh...not yet, maybe some time tonight. It involved socks, lots of them. I went garage selling (or is it saling) with the two younger boys. I found lots of cool deals for the baby girl, and even a couple for Kaleb. We went to this one garage sale and they had a large ziploc bag full of socks.....colored socks. Well, you all should know how much Kaleb loves his socks, so the minute I showed him the socks...well, let's just say his face lit up, and there was no putting those back. He carried that bag everywhere with him. In the van, he had to be holding it. The minute we got home, he had to put a pair on. Normally I like to wash things from garage sales before my kids wear them, but you try telling that to a 2 year old sock obsessed child. It wasn't gonna happen. By the time he went to bed, he had changed his socks 5 TIMES. He loves those socks..For the baby girl, I found lots and lots of clothes. I tallied it up and think I got about 11 sleepers, 6 onesie/shirts, 7 outfits,a pair of shoes all in sizes 0-18 months, and I got Kaleb some pajamas too all for less than $25. I made out like a bandit!!
Well, I got one page almost done in time to celebrate NSD. I finished it after midnight while watching Pirates of the Carribean 2 (DUMB MOVIE - I guess you could say, I'm not a big Johnny Depp fan.) Well, it was Kaleb's birthday breakfast page, and he was not pleased with the candle in his waffle!! Here it is:

the latest, but not greatest

Here's my latest scrapbook pages that I actually like. The one with Kaleb and all the flowers makes me laugh. I dont' usually make girly pages for my kids. Sure, I might use flowers every now and then, but not this many....but man, the kid has a purse fetish, and so I thought a little girliness was slightly appropriate. Can you blame me??
The other one is just of some cute pictures of him last April or March of some funny faces he used to make....and yes, the pictures are supposed to be crooked. (I found this idea in a magazine, so I thought I would give it a try!)
