3-2-1 BLAST-OFF!!!!!

Boys will be boys, no matter the age. Eric bought this rocket...."for the boys, Marshan...." However, I'm pretty sure I know who the rocket was actually for. After many failed attempts, and a couple patches of duct tape, this rocket soared through the air causing lots of fun for the whole family.

Shaved Head

...and I'll just leave you with this. I dared him to shave his head in exchange to be his maid for an entire month. (What stinks is that I actually like it! So, I got nothing out of the deal, well except for a nicely shaved head!)

SNAKE

Remember the snake from back here? Well, he had a friend who was still living in our yard. Eric decided to show it to us. See......This is exactly what the snake I killed looked like. Gross, huh?

What's funny it's alive right there, and Eric was planning on letting it go in the woods. However, when he was getting ready to let it go, it was dead.....he told me that it must have had some injuries or something already.....hmmm...maybe it was the one that I "THOUGHT" I killed. (although, I still think I killed it.) Eric made sure that it was finished off this time though..just in case it was the snake with nine lives!

Father's Day

The boys loved helping pick out things for their Daddy for Father's Day. They ended up getting him a whole bunch of stuff for Father's Day...flashlights, t-shirt, shorts, game. I made him a small album that the kids wrote in. I thought it would be fun to have the boys tell their Daddy reasons why they loved him.

Look who's happy.....

Eric did a group buy this year for fireworks. And well, I'm just glad he told me that he got the least out of all the guys he did it with. He said there were 90 something cases of fireworks delivered to where he works. Crazy, huh? Oh, and in his defense, he's supporting his own hobby. He started a online business called
Pyroboom. He sells mortar tubes, racks and plugs which to most people might be a lot of gibberish, but to the pyro-world....well, it's pretty exciting!

April Fool's Day

I'm so bad......Guess what I did.....Well let me start at the beginning. Eric and I are not trying to get pregnant at all. We are quite content with 5 cute kids. But hey, we all know that even though you might not be trying to get pregnant....it still might happen. Anyways, here's how the conversation went with Eric when he got home from work:

Oh, first off you have to know that I act slightly mysterious and avoid eye contact when I have to tell Eric or ask Eric usually, so I was "acting" my part which gave me the perfect excuse to smile, so I wouldn't bust a gut laughing and ruin my cover.
"Marshan, what's wrong?"
"Nothing!"
"Marshan, I can tell that you have something to tell me. What is it?"
Smiling sweetly, "Nothing."
"Marshan, just tell me. What do you want to do?"
"Uhhhh....you know how we were talking the other night about what still could happen?"
"Uhhh...yeah.....are you??? Are you pregnant???
"Well......"
"Uhh...wow....uhhhh...Did you tell Niki yet?" (Seriously, this is the first thing out of his mouth. Most of you know that Niki's wedding is in December, and she soooo doesn't want me pregnant in it.)
"No!" I walk into the kitchen trying not to smile. "You know how you always say God is in control."
"Wow, uhh... I'm excited...and shocked....and uhh...wow. I wasn't expecting this. I hope the baby is born before the end of the year to get our tax write off. I'm HAPPY!"
"And.....I'm APRIL FOOLIN' YOU!"
You should have seen his face.....it was hilarious. Totally got him. He started laughing too, and kept telling me that I really got him...that I really had him going. In the middle of dinner, he stated that he was still getting over the whole thing. I can't believe I got him!
_____________________________________________________
I tried to pull the same thing with Niki, and I said:
"Niki, you know how God is always in control."
"Yeah."

"And how we really don't have any control over anything?"
"Yeah."
"Uhhh....what would you say if I told you I was gonna be a little bit bigger at your wedding?"
SILENCE
"It's April Fool's day!"
Awww man, I had her for a brief second and then she remembered what day it was.

Someone thinks he's cool. EDITED

Look what Eric is sportin'.....a little...shoot, I don't even know what they're called...a chineard??? You know...a beard on the chin??? I guess it's not even on the chin. It's on the little area underneath his lip, so maybe it would be a lipeard? He thought he would be cool to shave his goatee off tonight and just leave this. What do you think?? I told him he's trying to be like Jared Ferrell. Ha-ha!!!!!!

PS I totally forgot to post this with the post yesterday...Okay maybe I didn't forget, but well, he was just kidding. He shaved it off before he went to bed. So not into the patch of hair thing.

My Man loves me!

Look what he brought home to me! He stopped by Costco and picked up my pictures even though he had already been there today, and he bought me some scrapbooking stuff at Target. (He was there looking for Geotrax.) Thanks, Honey!

Eric's 37th

Poor guy! He didn't get to do anything too exciting for his birthday. I guess that's what happens when you hit the big 37!!! He took the day off work to do some freelance work on the side. I had meant to take the kids out and get a cake and presents, but Jakeb was still running a fever, although with a fever, he went outside with the rest of the boys. However, for dinner we went to Toot's again and spent $11 something for dinner. Yum! Then it was off to Costco to get some food and his birthday present which by the way is what he's holding in his hand. It's what he wanted - a heavy duty tape measure. (It was hilarious. He was in his office and all of a sudden I see this tape measure poking through the door and then it turned on my TV. Note to all you non-handy people: most tape measures will get all flimsy when extended a long distance. Shoot this one turned on the TV and turned it off.) Regardless, I think he had an okay birthday. I love you, Honey!!! Happy Birthday!

8 years & 8 months

Happy Anniversary to Us, Happy Anniversary to Us, Happy Anniversary to me and Eric, Happy "Anniversary to Us!" We've been married 8 years today. Crazy, huh? I can't believe we've been married that long! He took me out to a fancy restaraunt tonight called Jag's, and believe me...it was no cheap dinner this time! It sure was enjoyable though! We even got a free dessert!

And guess who turned 8 months old today!!! Yup, Makenna's eight months old. She's growing like a week. She rolls all around the ground, she's wearing 12 months clothes, has a total of five teeth now, completely on the bottle, and her daddy thinks that she is saying "da-da." What a big girl!

(Check out all the past months by clicking on each month: June, July, August, September, October, November,December, and January.)

A smalll miracle ...

occurred today.....Eric changed Makenna's diaper! Shocker of all shocks!!!!
edited....Eric has changed Makenna's diapers before, but I could seriously count the times probably on one hand...he says it just freaks him out....)

EVACUATE

We're getting a new electric heater system, and Eric convinced the heater people to take off $100 if Eric himself ripped out the old oil tank and heater unit. He did great with the oil tank, but then came the heater unit. As he was ripping it out, somehow he did something wrong releasing freon everywhere. (I was not impressed with this.) From what I understand this is not good. Eric comes upstairs and tells everyone to get their shoes on and go outside......into the RAIN!! So here we all are on the front little porch trying to stay dry under the awning...some of us in our pajamas still just standing there not sure of what to do next. We were definitely a sight to see.

The boys were getting pretty nervous about the whole thing thinking that we were all going to die or that our house was going to burn down or something...., so we tried to make the best of the situation and made the excuse to go to Chick-fil-A. YUM!!

By the way, we contacted a guy from church who knows all about this type of stuff. He not only advised us to open the windows and let the place air out, but is hooking us up with a better heater for a better price!!! Yay!!! God really does work in mysterious ways! New heater will be here tomorrow!!!!!

I have a baby shower tomorrow, have to take Makenna's four month pictures, and I have to finish cleaning my house because my brother and his family are coming in to town.....not to mention church tomorrow morning and evening...oh yeah, I have offertory too. AHHHHHHH!!!! So until then....

HALO 3

Why??? Can someone please explain to me all the hype and buzz about this new video game. I mean, seriously, how much "cooler" can it get? It's the third one for crying out loud! But yet there is my dear husband with his friend Tim, the first people in line at Micro Center to pick up their game. They've been looking forward to this moment for a year and a half. And well....it's finally here. The day that they've been anticipating. I just hope it's everything that they have ever hoped for. Geeks! (I love you, honey!)

Marshan = evil wife

That would be me...the evil wife! You see, Eric's X-box broke about a month ago....(wah-wah!!!) Anyways, he sent it in to get fixed, and it came back fixed.....last week. I promptly took it and put it in the closet to hide it conveniently forgetting to tell Eric about it. (Whoops!) Now fast-forward to today. Eric calls and tells me to go check the front porch to see if his X-box is there. I tell him that it's not there because I just got the mail and didn't see anything. He then asks me if I kidding him. After much going back and forth, and mind you...I never lied once.....he comes to accept the fact that it is not on our front porch even though the UPS website is saying that it was delivered and signed for by an "Alma," and hangs up.

He calls me back about 20 minutes later...chuckling on the phone....I knew that he had figured it out by then, but I still chose to play dumb. I thought he would have been upset, but he actually thought it was funny that I had kept it for almost a week without telling him. He said that he finally figured it out after he was on the phone with the x-box people for 10 minutes and realized that the date that it said it was delivered was the twelfth. Of course, then he wanted me to tell him where it was....(yeah, right!) He had to go on his own search to find that silly toy!! (Did I mention that I've been watching my season one of I Love Lucy.....I think Lucy has been a bad influence on me....This is sooooo what Lucy would have done to Ricky!)

These make me chuckle

I'm so behind on my scrapbooking that I'm finally getting around to February of last year...sad, huh?? But I did these page, and makes me laugh. It's of me surprising the stink out of Eric when I gave him his X-box 360 for our anniversary/birthday present. And then this other page makes me laugh because it's when Eric got his silly big screen for his computer. The journalings are the funniest part. I hope you can read them if you click on the picture.

Fisher Picnic

Today Eric's work had a picnic, and the families were invited. Not too many families came, but shoot, I take any opportunity to get out of the house and ....free food...we're there! I only took 2 pictures.....the first is some people that Eric works with, and the second is the two new daddies to girls. The guy on the right works with Eric and has two boys. He and his wife just had their little girl two weeks ago.

...the man MUST love me

I wanted a shake, and not just any shake....a shake from Steak and Shake. They do make some of the best shakes. Anyways, at about 10:20 Eric left our house to go get me a shake.....He brought back Mocha Chocolate chip cookie dough....mmmmm....gotta love being pregnant!!

Lost keys

Poor Eric! He misplaced his keys on Friday night. He looked everywhere. He even volunteered to give whoever found them money. He went through a week's worth of trash thinking that maybe they got thrown away by one sneaky kid. He searched the refrigerator and freezer because he was the one that put the groceries away. You have to understand, he was going insane trying to find his keys. He searched the car; he searched the van. You name it, he looked for it there. Bless his heart. He does not lose things normally, so you must realize how unusual this is for him. (I, on the other hand, lose things all the time.) We're talking some major stress on the poor man...some added gray hairs. He was talking about how he had even prayed multiple times that he would find his keys. We got tonight, and as we were walking inside...guess what Eric found IN HIS COAT POCKET!!!!! You got it, HIS KEYS!!! See, God does answer prayers. He's positive that God must have put them there because he searched that coat over and over!!!
