Haircut

I chopped it. It's been begging me for a haircut for some time, and I went and got it cut the other day. My hair is officially happy. (It actually told me it was.)

First ponytail

Great! Now look what my mom did. She thought I looked so cute with that silly Mohawk that she decided that I just might have enough hair to put in a ponytail. And, well, she was successful. I had just enough hair to fit into one. Can you see it?? Now, I can't decide if I like it or not. I mean, on one hand, I was quite pleased that I even had enough hair to put in a tiny ponytail. I've heard that none of my brothers had this much hair when they were younger and neither did my mom, so that made me happy, but well...I just don't know. It's sticking straight up! Is it really supposed to do that? Oh, and I was pretty happy when my dad said that he like it. He even asked my mom if she took of a picture of me with it or not....which of course, prompted her to take this picture. Seriously, I know I'm cute and all, but does she have to take a picture of me every single day, and it's never just one. It's usually dozens. Anyways, back to my hair. I think I decided that it is almost time for a new do, so if my mom wants to put it in a ponytail, I think I'll let her.

Soccer

The boys had a soccer game today. They did great. I think they both did their best.

And of course, what's a game without cheerleaders.....

Shanique

She is so gonna kill me for this, but this is my friend Shanique. Her boyfriend has been begging her for a picture. So, she asked me to take them. She hadn't planned on taking them on this day, but I knew if I didn't take them now, then she would never take them. (She keeps on postponing them.) She was over at my house to go out to lunch, and while the kids were still in the backyard playing, I snapped some pictures of her. This was the first that I've done a photo shoot of someone besides my family...oh, and besides the church calendar...not to mention it was the first time I did photographed an adult. And I thought kids were hard..... (love ya, Shanique!) Here's a few.
This one's my favorite!

mismatched kids

I have always been into my kids matching. I'm not really into clothes...but I do like it when people match. I can't stand it when I see people mismatch....I mean badly. Like when I went to college a lot of international students would wear stripes and plaid together. Ouch! It would actually hurt my eyes. Not to mention I can't stand navy blue and black together. To me, people just look like a big huge bruise walking around. Anyways...and sometimes...usually inwardly, I laugh when I see little kids totally not matching like the other day. I saw a little girl with a red polka dot shirt and lavender. Seriously, check your kid out before you leave the house. Often you can tell the dad dressed the kid because of the red shorts with and orange shirt. Okay, I might be considered a little anal about it, but well, I officially have no more room to talk or poke fun.......I even let Jakeb out of the house like this. And Eric took Kaleb out of the house like that!
Oh the pain...

A Bad Hair Day

Seriously, would you look at my hair? My mom thinks that this is funny. She somehow squirted formula in my hair while I was drinking my bottle (She said it was an accident.....yeah, right), and then ran her fingers through my hair to get it out, and this is how she left my hair. That mom of mine left me with a Mohawk. Can you believe it? It's sticking straight up. And to top it off, she kept laughing at it and taking pictures. I heard her say that she was even gonna post it on her blog because she thought I looked so cute. Well, I don't think it's cute at all. I think it's embarrassing. Man, you just wait...one of these days I'm gonna grow up and get even. Maybe I'll stop wearing pink or something crazy like that. That'll get her!

(By the way....the reason that I'm smiling...well, I figured she would stop sooner if I smiled. Plus I didn't want to start throwing a fit yet....I'm not quite at that stage....I'll save those for later. Hmmm...maybe that's how I'll get even....and soon!)

bubbles

We bought these bubble wands at Walmart the other day for $1. Wow, who would have thought they could have this much fun with them. And of course, it was a bonus that they sorta looked like light sabers!

other outside pics

Here's some more pics from outside today.
Seriously, could they blow a little bit harder??? Check out that vein in Jakeb's neck. Look at Kaleb's face. And that dandelion wasn't even ready for blowing yet.

Jakeb and Luke were not getting along and all of sudden (all by themselves) one apologized to each other and then they hugged and made up.

end of the school year

It's getting to be the end of the school year. We only have 15 more days of school left. I'm trying to wean a little off the videos..since well, they've spent all year watching them, and spend a little more time doing some fun stuff including going outside. Today we went outside and tossed the football around saying multiplication time tables. I'm trying to think of incorporating other ways of spending more time outdoors, but still doing school. Any ideas?

We also had a little fun doing an obstacle course. Even daddy did it when he got home. (He is demonstrating it in the pictures below.)
First you had to run around the tree.....2 times.

Jump over the stick three times.
Hit the ball...but not fall. (That was added in for your own amusement.)
Go down the slide. Throw the football. Come home.

pirate- superman Kaleb

This was his get-up today. Note: there is NO jacket, but there is something that adorns his head still. Each day he has a new get-up. He's so funny. Here's some other pictures I took of him...running around the yard and being cute. I love the dirt all over his face....It's soooo....Kaleb.

Getting out of the Bumbo

Hey, everyone! Look at me. Here I am sitting in my Bumbo. Aren't I cute? While I was sitting here, I got a little bored, so I started experimenting with some new stuff. Here's what happened. I was sitting on the floor in my Bumbo, and while my mom was ignoring me on the computer, I figured out how to crawl out of my Bumbo. You see, if you just lean over how far as you can, eventually a leg will pop out of those tight little holes. (I think I might have lost some weight in those thighs of mine because a couple of months ago, they would never had gotten out of those tiny little holes. But anyways, I was leaning over as far as I could and Presto! I got out of that crazy little seat. I thought it was quite funny, and I was very pleased with myself. I was so pleased that I started chuckling to myself which of course caused my mommy to look at me. If you could have only seen her face....of course, I couldn't see it that clearly from my position, but well, she started saying, "Makenna, how did you manage to that?" I tried to say that I didn't know....maybe I was a magician or something because I didn't want to give away my getting out of the Bumbo secret. Who knows, maybe I'll save it for rainy day. I was hoping my mom would stop putting me in the thing. Ahhhh, that would be nice. But nope, she grabbed that silly camera, took some pictures, and stuck me right back in it. Well, I showed her. I did it again! That worked! She picked me up and put me on her lap. Ahhhh... now that was better. At least my legs weren't getting smooshed in those little holes anymore. I won the battle again! I always get my way.

Look who's standing

She's not too steady, and she can't get up there by herself, but she is holding herself there. Yay!

First Soccer Game

The older boys have started spring soccer. They had their first game last Saturday. Here's some pics of them. Here's Blake as goalie during the first quarter.

Then you have Luke as goalie during the second quarter....Oh, wait....he didn't get to be goalie or even play because he decided that when he finally got to play the second quarter (he sat out the first quarter), that he needed to go to the bathroom. Too bad there was NO bathroom. (and he knew this). He finally gets out there, waves at us, and then runs back to the coach where he rips off the goalie shirt and runs over to us as though we could do something about it. Well, we did.......we went home, and Luke didn't get to play that game. Too bad he didn't realize his bad decision was gonna cost him playing in the game. Some of you might think that we were mean, but the kid knew that there was no bathroom, and was told to go at home. Where was he supposed to go.....the woods??? NOT! (That was his suggestion, by the way!)
Here's some pics of the boys on the sidelines.......IT was SOOOOOO cold.

I have to give credit where credit is due....I did not take this picture. Eric did. He thinks that he's a better photographer than me............well, like I said, I'll give him credit. This...is his ONE great picture.

(PS. These were all taken with my zoom lens that I got for my birthday!)

10 months old

Well, it's that time of the month again! Makenna is 10 months old today. Where has the time gone. Seriously, it has flown by so quickly. It seems just yesterday we came home from the doctor to tell the boys that it was a girl. Remember this video? (Poor Blake...he's still not too fond of his little sister.)
Anyways, now she's already 10 months old. She's doing the scoot...almost crawly thing. She'll stand up if you prop her up on something. She's chattering up a storm. She laughs. She has 8 teeth. And she has such PERSONALITY! She's so funny. It was more of a struggle to keep her up on the couch this time. I haven't really had to deal with that. She kept trying to crawl off.
