This past week

I love this park because stretched out on the asphalt was a United States map, so we were having racing as to where the different states were. Jakeb LOVED it. Later that week, we were able to back with Luke too, and they had a contest to see who could get the most points racing to states. Jakeb was in the lead for the longest time, and I look over at him and he had both hands on his head exclaiming, "I AM SOOOOO SMART!" Too bad his big brother ended up catching up and beating him. I'm serious, though, if you could have seen his face when he said it, it was truly a Kodak moment.Friday, March 20, 2009
Cougar Crop

Man, was this thing fun this year. I had a great time. Mindy arrived bright and early to pick me up at 7:45 from my house and off we went to Kentucky to scrapbook from 9to9. I heard that there was around 130 women there crafting away! I got a ton of pages done as did everyone who went. Mindy won a Cricut...thanks to me.....(long story there), and man, I'm already looking forward to next year's crop. (Oh, and by the way...I stole all the pictures from the collage above from my friend, Candace's blog.)
Here's my favorite pages that I did while I was there.

Blake's basketball party

>
Yes vs. No
Apparently, I'm the mean one in the family. I went to an all day scrapbooking thing on Saturday, and a few of the boys were pumped that I was going to be gone all day. In fact Blake, my oldest, commented to his day. "I'm so glad you're gonna be home all day because you're a "yes" dad, and mom is a "no" mom. " Thanks, Son!

Random questions from the big guy
Hey Dad! Is Alaska bigger than the moon? Are there germs on Venus?
Do most people know they have a soul?
Did you know that there are mummies in Mexico?
The boy is very into mummies, pyramids, anything relating to those subjects. I'm hoping to do a small study on Egypt within the next couple of weeks.
Not Me, Monday
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I absolutely did not let my daughter have a dinner the other night of sour cream in one spot and applesauce in another. She does not have a thing for white condiments such as mayo, ranch, and sour cream. What kind of a mother would I be if I was teaching my daughter such eating habits.
I did not get completely frustrated when my son Jakeb could not find his shoes for the umpteenth million time. I did threaten to make him walk without shoes the next time that he misplaces them even if it means going without shoes to church. That would be cruel.
I did not get more frustrated when my youngest son Kaleb told me that he couldn't find his jacket today. Of course, he has never lost it before, so this is a completely new experience. I did not tell him that he could possibly have to go to the hospital if he went outside with the puny jacket that he did find.
I then did not spend the next 15 minutes pointlessly lecturing my two younger sons about how they need to be responsible and put things where they belong. They totally paid attention the entire time.
Oh, and I did not find a coat rack at Hobby Lobby that was uglyand very, very cheap just so that my boys would have a place to hang up their jackets.
Oh, and I did not give my husband a hard time about not getting me anything for our anniversary, so that he volunteered to take me shopping for maternity clothes. We did not take all five of our children to Motherhood Maternity in the mall. We didn't get any looks whatsoever as though we were the very family that was keeping Motherhood Maternity in business.
I then would absolutely NEVER proceed to find the cutest skirt ever that was a whopping $35. Shoot, I would never even CONSIDER buying a skirt for that amount. After seeing how much the skirt was, I did not proceed to try on every top in the entire store to match with the adorable skirt. When I finally did find a top that I liked, it was not entirely a size too small making me almost cry because they didn't have a bigger size. I then did not ask the worker if she could check another store because it was not past nine already. She was not waiting for my crazy and loud family to leave the store so she could go home. Instead, she did not try to be helpful and check the warehouse to discover that they had plenty of size of shirt that I needed, so they would mail it to my house FREE if I wanted. Of course, since I would never pay $35 for a skirt, I would never pay another crazy amount for just one shirt either, and I most definitely did not walk out of Motherhood Maternity with my husband, 5 children, and 4 complete outfits......oh, and of course, the $35 skirt was NOT purchased. That would be crazy!
