Oh my word, Blake is obsessed. That's all he wants for his birthday....Star Wars. He's never even really seen a whole episode of Star Wars, but he LOVES DARTH VADER!
He got some birthday money on the mail yesterday and had to go spend it immediately. We went to three stores looking for Star Wars Legos that he wanted, and finally found it. THREE STORES! It was crazy. So now we have little tiny legos all over our house that Kaleb is going to eat.

yet an ordinary, but late day

Today we got off to a very late start. We ate breakfast close to 10, so we were behind in everything. We had school late, naps late....I think you get the picture.
Anyways, we had spaghetti for dinner, and Kaleb thoroughly enjoyed it. He had it everywhere. but he was so cute. NOne of the other kids ever had spaghetti at this age, so he got the spotlight for a few minutes.
I also gave all the boys haircuts today.... I mean tonight. (See even hair cuts were late) I took the plunge and even cut Jake's hair. (Still a little nervous about it, but Eric says it's fine) I was pretty sad to see all those curls fall to the floor. Even Eric got a haircut too. Anyways, after I cut Blake, Luke, and Jake's hair...I said that I was all done cutting hair. Blake piped in....No, you have to cut Kaleb's hair too.
ooooh.... i forgot to mention the fact that my lovely husband decided to leave a pocketful of Luke's markers in his jean pocket, so that when i did the laundry.....well, let's just say that I didn't catch it in the washer but in the dryer. My dryer and my clothes looked like Jakeb had taken a marker to them and just went crazy. Luckily most of the marker came out the clothes, but the dryer.......well, if you ever see it....NO, we did NOT put one of our children in there with a marker!!!!

today
Today was just an ordinary day. Nothing really happened. It was not, however, the day for homeschooling. We did do the school thing today, but, man, was it hard. ANd I think, I hope...that they are learning.
This evening, We did go to ToysRus with Grandma to do some Christmas shopping....which, by the way, she successfully did.
Of course, a Gilmore Girls series premiere was on tonight. Yay!!!! i waited all summer for this. All in all, it was pretty cool tonight.

a new week
Well, it's a new week, and I'm gonna try to stay focused and organized. I'm, of course, homeschooling every morning. (which, by the way, is going okay....Eric just built me a chalkboard, so that's pretty cool) Then along with trying to keep the house decently cleaned.....note how I said decently cleaned....fyi...that means clean enough in case someone comes over unannounce......not spotlessly clean. I also have to make sure the younger boys are getting enough attention. ahhhh!!!! In all seriousness, life is good. I was able to do some birthday/Christmas shopping this weekend. Eric actually surprised the boys when we went to Walmart and got them each a toy. They loved that. And then today he took the older boys putt-putting after church. All in all, it was a good weekend....except for one thing......somehow the basement door got left opened.... and yes, you probably all ready know what I'm about to say. Well, since Kaleb's crawling.....well he experienced his first trip all the way down the stairs all by himself. It was not a good time. Thank God, seriously thank God, that he was okay. He has a couple of bumps and scrapes from that. But I think he's fine. I'm gonna keep an eye on him tonight and throughout the night to make sure he's fine. But, believe it or not, he was crawling all over again within 5 minutes.
Well, guys, that's all she wrote today.

I did it!! Or should I say, the Kids did it!!!!

Well I successfully made it through the first day of school, that is homeschooling!!
After we ate, we settled the younger boys down for a Baby Einstein movie, and the older boys and I sat at the table and learned the letter and the sound it makes. We also learned the letter 1-3, but of course the boys already knew those numbers. Somewhere in the middle of the time, Jakeb decided to come to the table to color. Then we all came downstairs to make a little doggy art project of which still Jakeb is still working on it.

Labor day

So what did the Alma's do for Labor day? Well, mom worked and cleaned....laundry, rearranged the kitchen cabinets, and rearranged her scrapbook room. Yay for me, but I still can't find the Creative memories circle that goes with the circle cutter. ARGH!!!!! ANyway, the boys played baseball today with their father. THey actually made some bases out of MDF board and spray painted numbers on them. Then they went into the back yard and set it up It was funny to watch them. BLake would hit the ball and just run to first. Once he got to first, he would run anywhere and everywhere. Luke would run and not touch the bases, so we told him to touch the bases when he would pass them. Well, the next time he touched the bases with his finger everytime. HE would run by and then squat down touch the base, and then keep running. It was hilarious

Kaleb's crawling

Yesterday, Kaleb officially crawled. Well, I guess you could call it that. He scoots himself along on a knee and a foot, kinda like Jakeb did. Kaleb is very cautious though. He knows what will happend if he falls. He'll fall and whack his head. He's so cute scooting along on the floor.

We call him..Preciously Evil
Okay, so Jakeb is coniving. he can get out of trouble with just a cute little look. He can also make you laugh with that same look. He comes up with the greatest excuses already and he's only 2. Whenever I tell him to come here, no matter where he is, he tells me that he's "stuck." He's also having issues staying in bed at night. After putting the boys to bed, we will go downstairs. Fifteen minutes later, I'll hear the pitter patter of feet above me and then hear someone on the stairs. Now grant it, sometimes he just sits on the stairs and doesn't come down. Other times he walks quietly into my room and just stands in the door way and doesnt' really look at me, but just smiles off to the side. He's just so cute that sometimes, it's so hard to discipline him. And then even when we send him back to his bed, we'll find out later that his bed is covered with books and toys. So picture this kid who finally fell asleep looking at books and playing with toys in his bed. I mean, seriously, he has those toys everywhere. Not only is he Coniving, but he's smart. He refuses to count for me. He won't even tell me how old he is although I know that he knows how old he is. But today, when I was talking to Luke about the number 8, I hear Jakeb saying, "8. 9....10....11....12.." But Lord knows, if I try to get him to count for me, he just shouts out, "NO!!!!"
Oh, and yesterday he was playing with his Little People zoo (thanks richi, by the way), where somewhow Blue's Clues' Steve was mixed in with the animals. Jake took one look at that and said, "no.....no....(with a smile on his face)," threw the Steve over his shoulder, and then started laughing saying, "that's Blue's clues!!"
He's just so funny and smart
oh and by the way, here's a picture of his up late at night at the top of the stairs, where he must have been for at least 5 minutes before I finally heard him playing. Eric and I call him preciously evil.
