I don't know how he did it, but he did. All of you who know me well, know that for the past 7 years, I've been saying to Eric that he would have to throw me a surprise birthday party for my thirtieth birthday. He kept saying that there was no way he could do it because I already "knew" about it. In the past couple of months, I told him that he didn't have to. I don't know if I was working reverse psychology or not, but oh my word..... it worked. He did it. He threw me a surprise party and successfully. I never would have thought that he could do it and pull it off. He was pretty sneaky, and I knew something was up his sleeve, but I just figured it was something for Monday. Little did I know, he had it all planned out.
Our Sunday school class was having a bowling activity, and he combined the party with that or vice versa. I don't really know. It was the perfect cover, because I DO NOT LIKE BOWLING. And since I don't really like bowling...well, I didn't really want to go. However, the kids were having a pajama party over at our S.S. teacher's house, and once they announced that part from the church pulpit, well....there was no way that my kids were gonna pass that up. So, we went for the kids' sake...or so I thought.
We walk into the bowling alley where we are met by our S.S. teacher telling us that we are going to have our devotional first so that we can bowl uninterrupted all night. He's always so insistent on having a devotional for every activity, so I thought nothing of it. We walk into the room, and SSSUUUURRRRPPPPRRRIIISSSEEEE!!!!!
It was pure craziness. He totally got me. I couldn't believe it. With the help of my friend Lisa, and who knows who else, he pulled it off! Then we got to the presents where I got a ton of stuff, mostly gag gifts, but very funny gag gifts. Check out the wig....nice, huh? Oh, and the toilet seat!!! You know I need one of those big boys since I'm getting so old. Oh, and Eric got me a whole bunch of camera stuff. His goal was to get me thirty gifts...since I was thirty and all. Some of them were hilarious! Oh, and did I mention that I had to wear whatever gag gifts that they bought me??? Lovely!!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my friends, Kent and Richi, gave me a Alma Survival Kit. For all of you who are wondering whats in the Alma survival kit...note the pregnancy test, baby food, diapers....and something else that I can't even bring myself to mention online although Blake did send one of these to his grandpa once......)

I'm still in shock that he pulled it off. Thanks, honey!!! If you want to see some more embarrassing pictures of me, check out it out
here on Lisa's blog. As though there could be even more embarrassing pictures. Don't I look great? The last one on her first post of me looks like a picture of my GRANDMA!!!
