Bows and more Bows Giveaway

I came across this blog that was giving away these bows from Kelly's colorful creations on Etsy, and well, I'm all about trying to get more bows for Makenna as though she needs anymore. But I have to admit, they are sooooo cute!!!
Field Trip
We took a Field trip today with our co-op to the Cincinnati Reds Stadium where we had a tour of the stadium along with the Hall of Fame Museum there. It was pretty interesting.

One Full Saturday
We had three games this morning for four boys, one soccer and two baseball games.
Kaleb in the outfield
Jakeb skipping along to third base
Luke running to first base after hitting the ball

Luke running to first base after hitting the ballBlake had a game too, but Eric took him to his game. Actually we both went to Luke's for a few innings, and then we had to separate and go to the other games.
Makenna and I did a little shopping for her. Got her a birthday present, and little something to ride around at the zoo. And since I had a coupon for Build-A-Bear....well, I couldn't let that coupon go to waste. So Makenna went to Build-A-Bear for the first time. She wasn't too horribly impressed though. She thought the bath part was cool. But I had to pick out the rabbit and everything. Now, when I showed her that the rabbit went into the little box that they give you, well that changed everything! She carried that box all the way out to the car, and it was a LONG walk!
We also made the dreaded trip to COSTCO where I got four gallons of milk for $.97 each. I was sure it was mismarked or something, but that receipt said $.97. Eric also worked more on the fort with the boys while I was out shopping. He added the walls around the first floor and then a third level......comforting, huh? What's more comforting was when Makenna decided that she should climb up there by herself.
And in the evening we went to Monsters Vs. Aliens for FREE! Did I mention that we went for FREE??? A friend of mine told me about this theater that honors competitor coupons by letting you get in for FREE!!!! Talk about SWEET! I took a picture, but it's on my other blog here.

Oldie, but Goodie on Friday...whoops, Monday
Now before you get all grossed out about this picture, and believe me...normally I would too, you have to know what was happening. Blake was about four years old, and all the boys were playing in the playroom downstairs when he comes into my room to tell me that Kaleb, who was a baby, stinks! He went on to say that if he stuck his fingers up his nose like this.....well, then he couldn't smell it as bad. Pretty cute, huh?

More Deals
These are all future gifts for Makenna, but hey...we don't have many girl toys yet, so I started. I got all of this for $5.25 at a garage sale. The big doll house, the baby doll, the bag of My Little Ponies, a Strawberry Shortcake doll, a princess blanket and princess sleeping bag, and two bags of socks! Talk about a deal!

I shouldn't count my chickens....UPDATED
...before their hatched, but we plan on picking this up tonight (Lord-willing) for our little princess. With the new baby coming she's gonna need a new bed, and this is a twin or a toddler bed whichever we decide to use it as. I found it on Craig's List today for $125 with a mattress.I haven't had the greatest of luck this week with Craig's List that's why I said I'm not counting my chickens before their hatched. I thought that I had this phenomenal deal on a stoller/car seat and playpen, but then that fell through. But I decided to pick up the phone this time and call the people, and he said he would hold it for me. Who-hoo!!! Eric's going to get it tonight! I can't wait! What makes it even cooler is that now I don't have to buy a bed skirt to match the bedding that I plan on getting for Makenna. That saves me $$$, and that makes Eric HAPPY!
I can COUNT THEM!!! Count the chickens that is....WHo-hoo!!! Eric got the bed tonight for Makenna, and he already put it in her room. Now, she's not sleeping on it yet, and I don't have bedding for it yet, but it's downright adorable!!!!

Let's talk FUNNY....
This morning the boys went with their dad to a Bring Your Kid to Work Day. Makenna woke up after they left, so it was just her and me for breakfast. I asked her where Blake, Luke, Jakeb, and Kaleb were. She looked around and then just looked back at me for the answer. I told her that they had gone bye-bye, and no lie, the next words out of her mouth were...."Yeah!" as though she was totally psyched it was just her and me. Then she started waving to their empty little chairs and looked back at me and smiled huge. So we've been hanging out this morning. Good Times!

Park pics
I did NOT talk Eric into taking all the kids back to the exact same park for the second day in a row! The boys all thought it was one of the greatest parks ever. (Oh,and by the way...not a clue where Luke was. He somehow managed to hide from the camera the whole time we were there.)
It was such a nice day. I loved seeing the kids in shorts and short sleeves, and some even wore sandals with no socks....(Kaleb!).

Here's Eric playing Follow the Leader back to the car at Sonic where we stopped for dinner. (hey, they have a $$ menu now! Who-hoo!)

Random picture challenge
Random picture challenge from this blog. Something like the 13th folder from April 2008 or your 42nd picture from then. I maneuvered it a little. Sorry. I only had 12 folders and then a couple of pointless picture not in folders. So, I picked a folder and picked the 42nd picture...along with a couple of others. I mean, come on! Kaleb is so stinkin' cute in these pictures! I'm sure that these were posted somewhere before on my blog, but well......they were worthy of posting again! What's not to love....cute smile, twinkling eyes, messy mouth...I love it!

a new place to play
Found a new park today. Okay that's not totally true. We've seen it for awhile, and it wasn't too impressive, but then they re-did and voila! Check it out. There was tons of stuff to do. I was slightly jealous because they never had anything as cool as that when I was little. Besides Makenna doing some serious somersaults down the tall slide that her brother was supposed to help her go down, it was great! (Seriously, it was not pretty. I about had a heart attack, and you know that little girl didn't even cry. She's one tough cookie!) And these next two pics...well, I think they are just so sweet (even if one is a little blurry).
In case you were wondering I only had the three youngest ones. The other two were with their dad, so we'll have to be going back sometime soon so they can explore it too!

Oldie, but Goodie on Friday
I was looking for pictures for Blake's collage, and I found a ton of cute pictures of the kids that I know I've never posted on the blog, and well....it's my blog so I can still post them which is going to start my oldie, but goodie on Friday postings. You never know how old the picture might be, but hopefully every week, I'll find an old pic an post it with some kind of story behind it. Of course since some will be that old, I might not remember the store, but hey...that's okay. Right? Here's Jakeb when he was about 18 months old. He was fully dressed when he went outside,b ut then got into the most mud that you have ever seen. So I took off all his clothes which only made it worse and caused him to play even more. But seriously, how could you not LOVE that face?

Some things never change!!
I can still remember when it started. We were in Virginia at my brother's house, and there was a simple PINK bubble sword. Blake was captivated by it. He was three. He loved it, and that started the addiction to swords, guns, and any other kind of weapon. He would use anything for a sheath (check out the 2003 pic) and everything for a sword. I actually remember one time when he used a little tiny AA battery for a sword. Such an imaginative kid! Swords and other weapons never last too long around our house because they do get abused and broken, but it never fails somehow others always find their way back into the house.

My stylin' little girl
Jakeb and Kaleb helped dress Makenna. Apparently, Makenna brought the vest and shoes to one of them meaning for them to put it on her. She's looking good even if she is a DRAMA QUEEN!
Checking out her purse. (Please do not think that I paid even close to full price for her little purse! But it sure is cute, huh, and matches so well.)
