5th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza

It rained and it rained! Bless all the people who still came out to the Extravaganza in the rain. But you know what?? We all had a great time. The kids loved it. And God stopped the rain for a short time so Eric could do his show!! It was amazing. I'll try to get around to posting some videos of it soon. (Check my youtube sidebar every now and then, and eventually they'll be posted if you want to see them.) You know what's funny? The forecast said it was gonna rain all day and actually start thunderstorming at 6:00 pm. Never once did we hear thunder or see lightning, and then it let up exactly before dusk. I still can't get over it. Oh, and it started raining again less than five minutes after Eric finished his show.

Fun times

George and Eric took the two younger boys to a Reds game on Thursday. It was actually Kaleb's first game.

While they were there, they saw MARIO LOPEZ who everyone knows as A.C. Slater from Saved by the Bell, and my good hubby even took a picture for me!!!! Gotta love him!

Afterwards we all went to Olive Garden and did some serious pigging out! YUM!

Then we came home for a game of baseball in the backyard. Notice: for boys who don't like pink...there's a lot of pink baseball equipment....pink glove, pink bat, and even a pink ball. They have their own, but for some reason Makenna's keeps getting used.

Cougar Crop

Man, was this thing fun this year. I had a great time. Mindy arrived bright and early to pick me up at 7:45 from my house and off we went to Kentucky to scrapbook from 9to9. I heard that there was around 130 women there crafting away! I got a ton of pages done as did everyone who went. Mindy won a Cricut...thanks to me.....(long story there), and man, I'm already looking forward to next year's crop. (Oh, and by the way...I stole all the pictures from the collage above from my friend, Candace's blog.)
Here's my favorite pages that I did while I was there.

Wii-ing it up!

Mindy and I finally had our play date. Yes, I said "our play date." It wasn't for the kids although this first picture proves otherwise. It was truly for us. She got a Wii for Christmas, and she had been wanting me to come over and kick her butt in softball. So, in efforts not to get her upset at me because I love her so much, I obliged and went over and KICKED HER BUTT IN SOFTBALL. Now, in her defense, she did successfully kick my butt in a few games, but there's no need to mention those.

The Wedding

We arrived on Thursday afternoon. The bed and breakfast was lovely. The shower in the bed and breakfast was phenomenal. It had 7 spigots shooting out everywhere. I told everyone about the wonderful shower. Sorry, didn't mean to get a little off subject there about the shower.

Anyways, on Friday there was a bridesmaid luncheon at a quaint little tea house. (Is that what it's called? a tea house?) It was nice to meet a lot of people who I have heard about for the past couple of years.

That night was the rehearsal of which Makenna did wonderfully. She sat in her little red wagon and waved as she came down aisle. I managed to hobble up the aisle without causing too much attention to my foot. And the boys were perfect.

The rehearsal dinner was back at the bed and breakfast where the catered food was fantastic. Some friends from cllege showed up so we introduced the game of ZOO to our husbands (to be). If only I could explain ZOO on my blog. It was basically a game that we played in college before Saturday hall meeting. Each person was a different animal that had a different hand movement and sound. It was basically a rhythm game with clapping and lots of noise. The boys were in complete shock, but played along with us. (I think they did it to amuse us.) Talk about a loud, but fun time. We were laughing so hard that we were crying.

(From left to right starting at the top:1 Niki and her mom, 2 the announcement and our bouquet, 3 her guest book (what a great idea! i believe she had three of these to sign), 4 part of the Dinner Club reunited, 5 Niki and Jeff; 6 Shelley,me, Makenna, and Tracy; 7 Jakeb kissing Makenna after the wedding,8 the cake, 9 the kids after the wedding)

Saturday was the wedding day. Niki and I got our hair and makeup done and were off to the church to get ready for pictures. I get there, and realize that I forgot my jewelry in Niki's car back at her house. AHHHHH! Then I go to put Makenna's tights on only to discover that they weren't a pair of pantyhose with cute little ruffles on the butt, but they were just little ruffled underwears!! My little girl didn't have any tights. Could I possibly do anything else to mess up Niki's wedding?

(From left to right starting at the top: 1 Shelley and I after the ceremony with the sparklers. Instead of bird seed, they did these. 2 Niki and Jeff at the reception. 3 some college friends, 4. Niki and the groomsmen, 5. the ceremony, 6. tired Makenna, 7. string quartet, 8 Kaleb, 9. Niki and Tracy)

So anyways, let's move on to the prettiest wedding that I have ever seen. Niki was a breathtaking bride, and the whole ceremony was beautiful. Too bad Makenna wasn't there to enjoy it. She absolutely refused to come down the aisle in her wagon. I guess the people scared her too much. Oh well!
Niki had a string quartet at the wedding and at the reception. Oh my word! It was such a nice addition to an already perfect wedding. The reception was equally as beautiful, and just look at how pretty Niki looks in her cape over her dress. She looks like a princess! I kept saying she looke like Belle. It was such a great trip. Jeff is a great guy, and I am thrilled for both of them.

PS. Thanks Shelley for posting the pictures on Facebook so I could post them on my blog. I was horrible and only took one - the one of Niki and her mom

Happy Birthday, Terani!

Today was my dear friend Terani's birthday. Her husband is out of town, actually out of the country...in Germany. And well..since he's gonna be gone for awhile....I wanted her to have something to remind her of Roy, so I made her a mini-Roy. I found an "inflatable husband" that was 3 feet tall. I taped a picture of Roy to the face. Of course, I added clothes too, and then...the mini-Roy was complete. Later, I took pictues all around my house showing what the Mini-Roy could do, and I made a little album for her...kinda like an instruction manual. If you want to see it...CLICK HERE. Anyways, here the video of her seeing mini-Roy for the first time.

We had such a good time at Red Robin. Happy Birthday, Terani!

Split night activity

Tonight was our split night activity with our Sunday School class. We went to the Melting Pot. You probably remember that I've been there before. If you're wanting to check the last time...click here.) Anyways, there were 11 of us ladies that went, and I thought it was Y-U-M-M-Y!!!!! Of course, I love 2 of the three courses we got.....cheese (appetizer) and chocolate (dessert), so I thought it was well worth my $20. Shoot, I still think I would pay $20 just for the dessert....that's how good it is! Just typing about it is making my mouth water........Anyways, we had a great time. Here's some pics.

Extreme Makeover - Home Edition part 2

So, Lisa and I went back again today to check it out and hoping to see Ty. This time we were brave, and stupid enough to take kids with us. She took her two angels, and I took only 3 of my horn sprouting angels. Needless to say, we didnt' stay as long this morning as we did yesterday.
They got a lot done in the front of the house. They finished all the landscaping in the front year. It looked amazing!

Then Eric watched the kids while I went back tonight. Terani met me this time, and we rode the bus over. If only we had gotten on a bus about 15 minutes before. They were taping the handing over the keys part, and they had started to unload furniture. After about 30-45 minutes, Terani had to leave, and bless her heart the line was so long to get back on the bus, she ended up walking back.....a very far walk.
I stayed a little longer, and Paige and Michael came out. They also kept filming the house.....but just the house. As I was about to leave, I ran into Lisa and Gail and their kids. She braved the storm and came back out with hers.

the finished house before I left on tonight. Doesn't it look great?
