Extreme Makeover - Home Edition part 2

So, Lisa and I went back again today to check it out and hoping to see Ty. This time we were brave, and stupid enough to take kids with us. She took her two angels, and I took only 3 of my horn sprouting angels. Needless to say, we didnt' stay as long this morning as we did yesterday.
They got a lot done in the front of the house. They finished all the landscaping in the front year. It looked amazing!

Then Eric watched the kids while I went back tonight. Terani met me this time, and we rode the bus over. If only we had gotten on a bus about 15 minutes before. They were taping the handing over the keys part, and they had started to unload furniture. After about 30-45 minutes, Terani had to leave, and bless her heart the line was so long to get back on the bus, she ended up walking back.....a very far walk.
I stayed a little longer, and Paige and Michael came out. They also kept filming the house.....but just the house. As I was about to leave, I ran into Lisa and Gail and their kids. She braved the storm and came back out with hers.

the finished house before I left on tonight. Doesn't it look great?

Extreme Makeover - Home Edition

They are filming about 10 minutes from my house, so a friend and I met up where they shuttle people over to the house in hopes of seeing Ty. We didn't get to see Ty, but we did see Michael. He came out and greeted everyone. We got our picture taken with him and his autograph. It was so much fun. Maybe I'll get to see Ty tomorrow.
It's remarkable the work that they do. They are building this house for this amazing Christian family that has three children, one with Crohn's disease and 2 with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. They were living in a bi-level house and the girls' wheelchairs couldn't get around very well in there, but now look at that beautiful ranch house. Extreme Makeover is amazing!

Me and Makenna

I know grammatically speaking it should be Makenna and I, but ......who cares...it's my blog......

That being said..here's some pictures I took of me and Makenna. She was loving the camera or maybe she was loving me....I am her favorite, you know?

I love this one of us looking at each other and being goofy.

A relaxing day

Today was a a good, relaxing day. I did a little shopping, just me an Makenna, then came home and did some family time. We filled up the pool again, and man! DO those kids love the pool or what!

Anyways, the shopping I did involved taking Jakeb's presents back. We bought Jakeb a VSMILE keyboard, and well...our VSMILE has seen better days, so we thought it would be better if we took it back and got him something else. What could be better than Word World blocks???/ He loved it. He also got some $$ from the grandparents in Michigan, so we got him the TAG system from Leapfrog with it. Here's pics from round two of Jake's presents.

Then it was some crazy old pool time. They still love splashing and jumping in,

but today they started a new thing....They would line up and then each jump in and swim from one side to the other and back. (Did you see how big the pool was??)

Anyways Makenna kept getting out of her little pool and trying to get into the big one.

(And, in case your wondering, the party pooper was back and didn't want to play with the rest of the family, so he stayed inside on his bed....no names involved.)

Oh, and I love these pictures of the boys communicating with Makenna. Priceless!

Happy Birthday, Jakeb

He's FIVE! Where has the time gone! He wanted to have his party at an Alma favorite...Chuck E. Cheese. He had loads of fun, and got loads of stuff. Thank you so much everyone who gave him a gift. He loved them all.

Let's see what all did he get?? He got an Incredible Hulk, a Batman, Superman, 3-D sidewalk chalk, a robot, a small dinosaur and lizard, and a RC Hummer from all his friends. Then we gave him a VSMILE keyboard, and two Carnivores, and a small Hulk guy.

Yup, they're definitely brothers!!!!

It rained....

and rained hard the other day. It rained so hard that a window broke in our house. (I think it was already cracked some, and the wind just finished it off.)

It rained so hard that I sent my kids downstairs to the basement. (Of course hearing the window break was why I sent the kids downstairs.)

It rained so hard that a TREE fell over in our back yard!!!!!!

It rained so hard that the electricity went off. (We ate dinner with a flashlight candelabra.)

But here's my two favorites:

It rained so hard that my kids prayed that it would stop storming, and when it did...they were thrilled that God had answered their prayers with a yes.

It rained so hard that Jakeb said, "Mom, Jonah must have gotten back in the boat."

Makenna's new walker

I have been waiting for this forever. I was checking Fisher Price, Amazon, and Toys R' US everyday for over a month for this cute little toy. It's a two in one toy. One...it's a walker. Two...it's a little baby stroller. I'm all about multi-functioning toys! I wanted to give it to Makenna for her birthday, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I had all but given up. I stopped looking for it, and then one day last week, I checked to see if they had it, and Amazon (click here if you want it), came through for me, (I love that place.), and they had it for $10 off, and of course, they have free shipping for $25 and over. WHooo-heee!!!!
So today, I was watching the window like a hawk waiting for UPS to come, and wouldn't you know it BROWN didn't come until well after 6:30! (Jakeb and I had a debate going. He kept saying that UPS was black, and of course, we know it's brown. After asking the UPS lady what color her truck was, he resorted to calling it.....dark Brown.)
Anyways, she didn't get to play with it too much because Daddy came home with the new entertainment center, and there went all the walk room. Oh well! Tomorrow is another day!

(Look, Amy, the doll you gave her fits perfectly in there!)

Check this out!

Look what we got! We bought the flat screen for 1/2 off at Costco. (It was a display model.) And the entertainment stand...we got it on Craig's list. We basically got both for the less than the price of the regular price of the TV. The entertainment center is HUGE! I can't wait to fill it up! It needs a little work. The bottom doors are falling off.. the hinges are broken, but Eric is gonna fix that. It's pretty nice. (In case you're wondering....the piano will be moved soon!)

the addition - COMPLETED

Well, it's done. We've been living in there for about 2 1/2 weeks now. It's great, so spacious! It's not totally decorated, but that will take time. Here's a little progression from what it did look like to what it looks like now.
