a Dare

Eric and I love a sandwich place called Potbelly. It so good. They have a sandwich there called a "wreck" that has swiss cheese, roast beef, turkey, ham, and salami on it. Now, I know that it might sound weird, and I probably never would have tasted it if Eric hadn't brought it home for me one day, but well...it's really, really good. So much better than Subway. Even the kids like it. Now, the best thing about the sandwich is the relish that they put on it. Yes, I said relish. The relish has hot peppers and some other vegetables in it that if I mentioned what they were, you would stop reading right now. Just note, I LOVE this relish. Eric actually bought a jar of the relish to bring home for whenever we want to use it.

Today, Eric dared the boys to eat one hot pepper out of the relish jar. Just one....(that's how hot, but good they are) for $5. Luke was the first to volunteer. He downed it, and then downed a glass of milk. His eyes were watering, but he refused to admit it was hot until about 30 seconds later when he was still suffering slightly.

Blake surprised us when he took Eric up on the dare. (I'm not sure why it surprised us since he did the $16 pickle juice dare, but it did.) He downed it too and guzzled his milk also. Then Eric upped the ante. He said that if the boys ate two more peppers then he would give them a total of $10 each. Luke profusely refused! Blake, on the other hand, started thinking what all he could buy with his $10, and downed another 2 peppers guzzling milk as he chewed. What's funny is that Blake doesn't even like milk. But we told him that if he drank pop it would make his mouth burn more probably, so milk did his body good.)

When we asked Jakeb if he was gonna do it. He answered, "No, that will make me sick!" No money is worth that much pain to Jakeb!
