So sorry!!!!

We went over to the some friend's house tonight with a sick kid. I was completely sure he was sick or not. He didn't tell me that he didn't feel good till about 5:45. We were supposed to be there at 6:30. ARGH!!! I knew that she already had dinner ready, so I didn't know what to do. So, we made the mistake of chancing it. While we were eating, Jakeb just laid on the couch. Then after eating the most scrumptious food that I have eaten in a long time, we sat on the couch all together watching Happy Feet. That was when it happened....he puked. NOT COOL!!! It was all over their nice couch. I felt sooooooo bad! I really am sorry Betsy. He hadn't acted sick all day, otherwise I would never have gone. Anyways, after he puked, Betsy cleaned up her couch. I tried to clean up her kitchen floor, but I still smelled like puke because when he started puking I grabbed him so he would puke on me and not their couch. I think it was something that he ate (not there, but earlier in the day), but we didn't want to risk getting their children sick, so we left. Since we got home, nothing...nada...he's been fine.

Of course, then we have Kaleb who was absolutely fine there, but when he got home, he remembered that he had fallen earlier and scraped his knee. He just kept crying and crying and crying and pointing to his knee as though he had fallen all over again. Nothing would calm him down. I even put a new bandaid on it. He must have cried for about 10 minutes straight. Finally when we put his pajamas on him, he calmed down a little. He did miss his nap today, so that could have had a lot to do with it.

These pictures..

make me smile. I worked on these tonight. I spent a little bit longer on the "say cheese" page than normal especially with just the one picture, but he's just so stinkin' cute! Some pictures just need a page for itself. I tried to use lots of stuff on it, but not too much to subtract from the picture. And the other one...well, the title sums it up very well...it's just "too cute." Anyways..there they are. Here's one more that I worked on.

having fun

Well, this was what we did this afternoon....bubbles and hide n seek. The top is the new, more efficient, way of the boys doing bubbles. They were spinning like crazy today. The second picture is Luke hiding while Blake is counting. When Kaleb saw Luke hiding in the ditch, down he went too in the grass, so all you saw was little heads sticking up. I literally started busting a gut right then and there. It was the cutest thing!!!! Little brother wanting to be just like big brother.

I failed...

..the first test that I've actually had in awhile. In fact, I failed so badly that I was able to skip the three hour glucose test and go straight to the next doctor. Oh joy! I get the feeling that when this baby comes out....well, we might just not get along. Come on, she gave me gestational diabetes. ARGH!!! I had it with Blake and Luke, but not with Jake and Kaleb, so i figured it was bound to happen this sime around! I just hope that I don't have to give myself shots like I did with Luke. I felt like a druggie if we were out at a restauraunt and sneaking into the bathroom to give myself a shot of insulin in the leg.

Man, I don't even eat a lot of sweets. Now grant it, I did have the best cookies awhile back, and I had some slow churned Edy's icecream, but seriously...I don't eat a lot of sweets. Of course, I do drink a lot of sweet things....for example....Dr. Pepper, Sweet tea, but I guess I won't be doing that anymore. I'll have to switch my drink. I wonder if I'll be allowed to drink Cherry Coke Zero. I really like that drink. It makes my mouth happy!!! Anyways, thanks for letting me vent. My next appointment is with the endocrine doctor. (Is that what it's called?)

Someone got a boo-boo.

And you would have thought that he chopped off a finger. But you know, I agree...sometimes it the littlest cuts that hurt the most. He calmed down once I got the Blue's Clues bandaid on hom though. Somehow, that made it all better, but only after Mommy kissed it first because you know no boo-boo gets better without a kiss from Mommy.

ps. As I'm typing this Kaleb is right next to me awaiting his picture on my blog. When he saw it, he said, "My boo-boo!" It just made me laugh, so I had to share.

I finally got Luke to say it.....

"we're having a girl." Of course, I had to bribe Luke with some buffalo chicken wings and a drink of my Dr. Pepper when we were at Toot's on Monday, but he said it. It was actually two different times. I told him he could have a drink of my Dr. Pepper and then the second time I told him he could have one of my beloved wings. He likes them as much as I do. I realize that it is sad that I have trick my son in to saying it, but hey, I take what I can get. Blake still refused to say it even though pop was involved! He's a pretty stubborn kid. Luke, on the other hand, is more like me. He'll do anything for food.

Here's where we are with the new baby.pregnancy calendar

Now you see it;

Now you don't. The things you do for your children, or children to be. This is the most despised drink for pregnant women. It could be much worse. It could be root beer flavor. This is the first time I've ever had it in a plastic bottle. It's usually in glass. Maybe that will help improve the taste. Yeah, right. This is the drink that helps determine whether or not you have gestational diabetes. I would assume it would tell you if you had regular diabetes also. THe first time I had to drink it with Blake, I failed the blood test afterwards. Then I had to go for the three hour testing at the hospital and drink more of it. I failed there too. So I had to watch what I ate and start prickin my finger. Then with Luke, I failed at the doctor's office, and just said to forget the three hour blood test. Then the pricking and the diet began again, and that time I actually had to give myself shots. Blech. Thankfully, God decided that that was enough for me because with Jakeb and Kaleb I didn't have the gestational diabetes. I'm praying that I don't have it with this one either. However, as I'm guzzling down this drink, I distinctly remember there being a carbonation flavor with it, and well mine....is flat,so it's basically like drinking really sweet, flat pop. (I'm officially a Ohioan now because I just wrote pop on my blog. Floridians call everything Coke. I'm so sad about this.) It's been sitting in my regrigerator for a month, and the boys keep trying to drink it because for some reason they think it looks tasty. I keep telling them that it's medicine, but they don't seem to buy it
Eric summed the flavor up best. He said it tasted like McDonald's orange kid's drink, maybe a little sweeter. And no, I didn't give him any. I was just describing the horrible flavor to him.

I had a date....

with just Blake tonight. We went to watch Night at the Museum. It's such a cute movie with lots of make-believe in it. I knew he would love it, and he did. He really liked the little miniature guys with the swords and guns, and he said he like the T-rex too. Blake talks incessantly...on the way to the movies, during the movie, and on the way home from the movies. (I have no idea where he gets it from.) Sometimes, I have no idea what he's talking about. Other times, he makes me laugh hystericallly.

My goal is take out one kid a week for one night on the town with mommy, and since Blake is the oldest...he was able to go first. He almost didn't want to go with me tonight because I wore a pink shirt, but since we were going to the movies, he figured not too many people would see me or him. I was so fortunate that he would go with me.

Look where I found Kaleb!

I hear a ..."hmph, hmph"...which actually sounded more like a, "Help me! Help me!" This is what I find...Kaleb stuck in the laundry hamper. Of course, I won't let him out until I take a picture of him.

The brown park

Today was yet another great day. I pulled out all the spring/summer clothes, and the boys were able to put their shorts on for the first time this year. They were loving them. After that, we went to the park, the brown park. Now, if you've been a blog reader for awhile, you'll know that we call our parks by their colors. When I told Jakeb that we were going to the brown park, he said, "But I don't want to fall down off the slide again." He proceeded to tell me a story about him falling off the slidea long time ago. He actually gave me a complete play by play of what happened when he fell at the this park. I couldn't believe his memory. Last August when we went to this park, he was climbing up the slide and fell off the side of it. It knocked the wind out of him, and it freaked me out. I even blogged about it, but what I want to know is....how does a three year old remember that??? Crazy!!! Talk about being a smart kid. Anyways, we went and they all had a great time.

Obviously, he didn't learn his lesson from last time!

When did he get big enough to do this by himself?

We then found our way to Toot's, and then it was off to the grocery store for some grueling and agonizing hours grocery shopping. By the time I left....I had two shopping carts full of food. Picture it....four kids, two shopping carts, and a pregnant lady. It was crazy. Oh yeah, the cashier actually told me that I was her biggest purchase of the day. Wow, that made me feel good!!!

Backyard Bubbles & Fun

Well, this was on Saturday. It was beautiful outside, so we the boys were able to have some fun in the back yard especially with the bubbles. Blake found a worm which he wanted to bring inside the house. And if you look at the pictures, you'll realize that the little boys weren't the only boys that had fun. The big boy had some fun of his own.

Pursuit of Happyness

Well, yesterday I went out with Richi and Stephanie. We met at Friday's to eat for a very late lunch, and then went to the mall where we each found clothes. I found my entire spring/summer wardrobe. They found some really cute clothes at Christopher and Banks. I was getting really jealous of all the stuff they found in there because most of it is just so stinkin' cute!!! I still love the vest that Stephanie got. I'm hoping that it's on clearance in July so I can get it and wear it immediately!!!
After shopping, we went to see a movie at the cheap theater. We saw the Pursuit of HAPPYness which was based on a true story of Christopher Gardner a man who had nothing, but is now a big time stock broker guy. It was a good movie, but know this....it's talking about the pursuit of happyness. It's talking about how he got to happiness, not how he was in happiness. It definitely made me appreciate all that I have.

Scrappin at night

So after the kids go to bed, I've been working on catching up on my scrapbooking. I'm about a year behind on all our albums, so I have a lot of catching up to do before the baby gets here. You see, that's my goal....to be caught up with scrapbooking by the time the new baby is here. Shoot! she'll be here in three months, and I have a year worth of pictures to do for four kids, not to mention our family album. AHHHHH!!!! I'm getting a little overwhelmed. Oh well...I'll try to get it all done. I'm working on getting Kaleb caught up right now...at least caught up until April of last year. Here's some of the pages I've done this week:
Spring Wipes - this is Kaleb last year throwing wet wipes everywhere instead of playing with the other boys.
"Little Man"
Walking page....how sad is this?? I honestly can't remember when he started to walk. I know these pictures are taken last March, but I don't think he was 15 months when he learned to walk. I think he was actually only 14 months. Whoops!
And last, but not least...here's Elmo's world.

Unleashing the MONSTER

Seriously, what have I done?? One Christmas gift for Jakeb has turned Eric into a train MONSTER!!! He's addicted. Now there has always been a slight interest in trains, but he's never acted on it before, but now.....well, I think you can see what he's done. Thank you, EBAY!! Until now, I liked ebay. Anyways, I guess boys never outgrow their toys. So now, not only do I have a train covering my entire floor in the living room, but now well...I might as well call my house a train depot.

Here's the little boys and their train.

And here is the big boy with his new toy.

He's come a long way!!!!

This is the man that when we first got married wore 5 colors: black, navy blue, grey, khaki, and white. He also swore up down that he would never wear horizontal stripes especially the ones that went just across the chest because they were just a fad, and would soon go out of style. But now look at him......seven years later, and sporting some colors!!!!! He looks good, doesn't he?? I got him this shirt for his birthday, and never really expected him to wear it because of the turquoise color. But he said he liked it. Shocker of all shocker. I was so excited, and when he wore it.....it looked so good on him!!! He definitely looks good in real colors. (Know what else is funny? He also said he would absolutely never wear an orange shirt. He has 2 now!) Sure do love this man!!!!

PS. Photo taken by Luke Alma, my five year old

Re-decorating Jakeb and Kaleb-style

This is how I found the boys today while we were having school. You would have thought that I would have heard the moving of the furniture, but believe it or not, I didn't at all. I just heard Kaleb wimpering because he couldn't get into the crib to play with Jakeb. All was well after I put him in the crib with Jakeb.

Scratching Backs

Jakeb likes to give back scratches. Normally, he'll give a back scratch to someone when he's bored and doesn't want to sit still because who would yell at him for scratching their backs?? Well, today this lady at church was telling me that he was scratching her back during Sunday School, and of course, no one was going to complain about that UNTIL she found out that he was holding a orange crayon in his hand while doing it!!!!!! Bless her heart. She said she went upstairs, and someone told her that she had orange marks ALL OVER THE BACK OF HER DRESS!!!! Thankfully, her dress was red, so it wasn't completely obvious to all, but still.....what was I supposed to do? She was chuckling, so I chuckled and told Eric which caused him to chuckle and try to give a stern little lecture to Jakeb who had absolutely no idea what we were talking about (or at least that what he says). The things that kids do...........

Some of Pages

Here's some of my pages that I did this weekend:

I spelled Christmas all crooked on purpose. However, it looked much cooler until I had to re-do the entire right page because I got white ink all over it. Then when I re-did it, it didn't look quite as cool. Oh well! At least it's done. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to fixing it....but I wouldn't count on it!

Here's Luke losing his first tooth. I actually won the orange letters as I was doing this page.
Here's a quick page of Kaleb and Eric. It seriously took about 15 minutes to do. These are my kind of pages!!
Here's Blake and Ava (from our church). I'm sure you remember these pictures that I took for our church calendar.
And this page is my favorite: Baby Blue Eyes!! I just really love the colors, and it does help to have the cutest little pictures of the cutest little blue-eyed boy that I know!!!!!
I did other pages, but these were the ones that I liked the most. I also did a tiny little album of all of our professional pictures from Portrait Innovations. I can carry the little album around in my purse. It's pretty fun.

Scrappin ALL DAY

Then after the big sale, I drove to Covington, Kentucky and met my friend Mindy at an all day scrapbooking crop. She called me Friday night to invite me, last minute, because a person who had already paid wasn't able to go, so I was gonna get a free ride to go. Eric was cool with me going, so off I went and scrapbooked a lot!!!! I think all together I got one mini album done, and 13 pages done too. I'll try to post some of them eventually. There were tons of door prizes and give-a-ways. However, I was "Judy Shelton." That was who I filled in for, so if her name got called....off to collect my prize I went. I think I got two door prizes and I won a contest for guessing how many little Prima flowers were in a jar. That got me a $5 gift certificate to a scrapbooking store. It was such a good time. Did I mention they fed us, and that it was FREE???? It was so nice to get away for the day. This was by far the longest I've ever scrapped in a row. I'm thinking I need to go next year, and be "Marshan Alma." However, I must say, "Thanks, Judy Shelton, for letting me take your place." Here's some pics:

Big Sale

There was a big "mother of twins sale" today at Lakota East High School. My dear friend, Richi, met me there this morning at 7:30 with Starbucks in her hand while we waited in line for about 30 minutes to go in and see monster garage sale of children's stuff. (THANKS FOR GOING WITH ME RICHI!!!!! YOU'RE THE BEST!!!!) They had clothes, baby gear, toys, and any other baby thing you could imagine. I never intended to buy a car seat that was used, but as I was walking by the car seats, I figured..."hey, I"ll just look." The first one I looked at was very nice, but it was $55. I figured I could buy it in the store for close to that amount. And that's when I saw it! The pink care seat that was screaming, "Buy Me! Buy Me!" I had told myself that buying a pink car seat was silly because if we ever did get pregnant again (which is not in our plans), what would I do with a pink car seat if we had a boy. But then I looked at the price. It was only $25, and it came with an extra base. So the PINK CAR SEAT for our little girl came home with me. It was a Graco SnugRider which I'm told is one of the top car seats. It is in really good condition. I was so excited!!!!! I also picked up a few articles of clothing too for our little girl. One dress still had the original tags on it. Here's the pics although you must disregard the fact that the pictures were taken in our basement.
