The Backpacks

I'm not sure what it is about these things, but all the kids love them. Niki bought the Dora backpacks (the purple ones for Blake and Luke forever ago), and Kaleb got the Diego rescue pack (the orange one) for his birthday. They have been played with continually since being purchased. Maybe it's the fact that you can put whatever it is that you want inside of them, and no one else can see it or maybe it's something else entirely. I have no idea, but these backpacks have been found in every room of the house at some time or another. And who knows what you might find in them. It could be the lost toy from 2 months ago, or something that would normally never fit inside without be smooshed and shoved. But regardless, these backpacks are well-loved and well-used. Right now, Jakeb is the culprit of carrying them everywhere. He's actually hidden one or two of them in his bed under his covers, so that when he's supposed to be taking a nap or going to bed at night...well, you can guess what he's actually doing. Today, he was carrying all three of them around at the same time which is slightly unusual. Yesterday, I had just been telling Niki how much the kids still playing with these backpacks, so when I saw him carrying all three of them..I knew I had to snap a few pictures because 15 years from now, they'll be able to look back and say...."I remember those things. They were cool." Shoot, maybe they'll be able to tell us what was so cool about them.
See, that's what I like to do - document even the little things in their lives. That's why you'll often times see pictures of not just people, but of objects too. When I was a kid, the "objects" were often times in the background of the picture like maybe on a shelf or just sitting on the floor, and grant it...it's not the focus, but...I remember it and remembering it makes me think happy thoughts. It then causes me to think of other "objects" that were around my house when I was little, and it makes me wish that I had pictures of them too. Anyway, for all I know I have made absolutely no sense in this post, but it makes sense to me. Hopefully, you "get it" too.
