Once upon a time...... Eric and I had a $100 Gift certificate to the Golden Lamb (Ohio's oldest inn and Restaurant). Now the deal with this gift certificate was that you had to use the whole amount or you got nothing back. So we figured the more people the better and we invited our friends Roy and Terani to go with us.
After an enjoyable meal with a few embarrassing conversations about aprons (that's a whole other story in itself....I'll save that for a rainy day!) we decided to look around at the INN part of the place. Now the Golden Lamb is pretty historical. It is full of antiques and actually has plaques with the famous people or Presidents stating who has stayed in the room. (Here's the website: http://www.goldenlamb.com/) We were on probably the third floor and starting to go back down when we hear Terani say, "Don't leave me up here." And then she went on about the fact that dead people had stayed in the rooms and that freaked her out. Well,, obviously to add to her anguish we decided to start running down the steps. (We're so kind!) Running down the steps would normally not have been a problem but I had on the worst shoes for this ever (they had absolutely no tread on them at all!), and the fact the steps were old with old carpet on them. (I swear the carpet was slicker back then.)
So as we're running down the stairs; no, make that walking briskly... I proceed to fall. I get carpet burns on my shins and my shoulder practically pulled out of socket because I'm holding on to the handrail. Of course, I'm laughing to make me feel not so embarrassed in front of Eric and Roy. And we just proceed to keep running down the steps. Well, guess what! I did it again! I slipped right down the stairs again for the second time in a matter of probably 15 seconds. Laughing out of either embarrassment or pain (in my shins and shoulder), I got myself back up and kept running. We're now on the main floor where there are tons of people waiting to be seated in the restaurant. (There was actually a meeting for the Red Hat Society ladies there), and I do it again.....I FELL DOWN THE STAIRS AGAIN!!! The third time in a matter of 30 seconds.
The guys are beside themselves laughing (as though they ever stopped). I'm mortified because all these people saw me fall. They probably thought I was drunk. My shins hurt, my shoulder was throbbing, and my pride was seriously damaged! This was definitely the one time I did not want to be in the spot light. I mean I know I’m clumsy and not very coordinated, but 3 times in less than 30 seconds? That was once every ten seconds. I fell more times than the average baby learning to walk!!!! Thank God for Terani....she's such a true friend. She's always there for me in my time of need because when I looked back at her she saw my embarrassment and she decided to throw herself down the stairs too, just to take the spotlight off of me. What a true friend!!!(Okay, so she fell too...I'm telling you that carpet was slippery!) Thanks Terani!!!! I love you, Man!!!!!

Then vs. Now

The 2Peas challenge of today: How are you different compare from 10 years ago?
1996 vs. 2006
Oooo! That's a scary thought. Let's see, I was coing to the end of my Freshman year of collegeat Pensacola Christian College, studying to be a elementary school teacher. Wow! That's been ten years ago? Let's see, I had braces still; big curly hair. (and to top off the hair...I decided to cut bangs to it.....not a good idea!!!). I lived with three girls and shared a bathroom with 7 girls. I dressed preppy, or at least, wanna be preppy. Yes I had the penny loafers and polo shirts galore. I didn't have a care in the world. I was still dating my high school sweetheart. I had just found out my parents were moving to Ohio. (which meant leaving that high school sweetheart during the summer too)
Okay, on to the stuff people really want to know.... Believe it or not, I was louder then than I am now. I have calmed down substantially. I HAVE grown up and matured since then. I now HAVE 4 sons five years old and younger...Blake, Luke, Jakeb, and Kaleb. I didn't not marry my high school sweetheart. (Thank you, Lord. He knew what He was doing moving me to Ohio.) I married the man of my dreams, Eric!!! I am homeschooling two of my sons right now, so I guess you could say that I'm using my degree. I don't care too much how I dress anymore...I don't have the time nor the money. My hair has lost its curl and is not very cool. I've lost a parent. I still live in Ohio where I met my wonderful husband.
In some ways, I don't think I have changed. I still love to hang out in groups of people. I want to make sure everyone likes me. Okay, I'll admit, I like to have all the attention some times.....although I have gotten better with that one. But I mean, shoot! Of course, I've changed, but only for the better. I went from being a daughter, a friend and a college student to being a WIFE, MOTHER, daughter, and friend. I would most definitely say that I've changed, and for the better!

I love my camera!!!

My digital camera takes great pictures. Gotta love it. Look at these pics. You all know that I'm not a non-child photographer, but with this camera, how can I pass these pictures up? My favorite is the turtle, but the butterfly and the crab are pretty cool. You feel like you can actually touch their antennae. Some of the pictures were taken through glass, but you would never be able to tell. You should see the real deal. I printed them out on my Epson PictureMate, and they are so life-like. AWESOME!!!! I love the digital world! I'm planning on making a animal book for Jakeb with these pics. Eventually I'll get around to doing it and maybe posting it. By the way, my camera is just a Fuji FIne Pix F700 camera, not even a SLR. LOVE IT!!! (Oh, and it was a b-day present from my hubby 2 b-days ago!!! Gotta love him too!!!)

Thank you God!

Thank you God for my boys! Sometimes I just look at them, and I am in awe of the awesomness of God's goodness to me. I have four completely healthy boys. I have so blessed. Sure, they are crazy and loud and ALL BOY, but they are mine, given to me by God. Sometimes it baffles my mind to think that they are all mine. I mean, wasn't it just yesterday when I graduated from college wondering what was going to happen next in my life, and now 7 years later, I'm happily married with four boys. WHere has the time gone? I would never have thought this is where I would be in life right now, but at the same time, I can't imagine it being any different. Thank You, God for being with me back in college and knowing then where I would be right now in life. Thank You, God for all the blessing you have given me....my salvation, my boys, my hubby, my home, and my life.

EASTER PICS

I can't believe how fast Easter came and went. We woke up late for church, so to make us even a little later, I made the boys go outside on our way to the van and take some pictures really quick. I bought these shirts at Walmart. Aren't they adorable? Too bad I didn't try them on before Easter morning. Luke's was skin tight. I let him change shirts in the van on the way to church, but I had to get my pics.
They loved Easter egg hunting. Of course, Luke's been practicing for quite awhile now with these little footballs that he has. He's always wanting to play Easter Eggs. Anyways, it was a good day.
When I gave the boys their Easter baskets before church, I reminded them that although gettting Easter baskets is fun, it's NOT what Easter is all about. Easter is about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Rising up from that tomb that they put Him. He died for our sins on a cross and rose up three days later just so that we might trust in Him and be saved.

a triggered memory of BLAKE
I remember a couple of years ago, we got free tickets to King's Island. Blake was being potty trained.....okay, let me start at the beginning....with what triggered this memory.
The boys went to bed tonight, and after about 15 minutes, Blake comes out and asks if he can take his shirt off. Eric said, "Blake, you don't really have to ask that. You can just do it." I chimed in afterwards and said, "Except for in church.....oh, and in public....." Immediately that must of triggered a memory for Eric because he remembered when we were at King's Island and.....
We're standing in line for a ride in the kiddie area at King's Island. Blake was wearing pullups. We were in line for awhile when Blake announces that he has to go to the bathroom, and he proceeds to pull down his pants to point and shoot. Of course, I'm saying, "NO, NO, NO!" Then we started laughing hysterically. Thank goodness he was unsuccessful. That would have been pretty embarrassing.
Now please don't think that my son was raised in a barn. I did not teach him to do this. I do not approve of going to the bathroom outside (although this was not his first time he'd tried to pee outside.) But there is a famous saying......"like father, like son!"

Start of Spring

It was so nice on Friday. I know that I'm several days behind on posting these pictures, but like I said, it was so nice on Friday afternoon. I had heard that it was going to rain later in the day, so I wanted to kids to go outside and play for awhile before the rain. They all changed into their shorts, and out we went. They just messed around in front yard. It was fun to see Kaleb walk around and follow his brothers everywhere. He only fell umpteen million times. The older boys were busy digging in the dirt most of the time. And Jakeb was busy exploring! They're so cute!!!
I'm finally in the "in-crowd" now!!!

Well, we finally did it! We finally broke down and got a cel phone. Not just any cel phone, but the pink RAZOR phone!!! It's so cool. Eric totally surprised me with it. He was supposed to be home at 8:30 from teaching at Cincy State, and for once, I decided to surprise him with supper. And wouldn't you just know it...he calls me at 8:40 and says that he's running a little late. I'm telling you. It never fails. Whenever I have supper ready on time, he's always running late. Was I mad? No. Was I annoyed? Yes! So I said, "Okay, Whatever," and proceeded to hang up the phone. (Okay, so a few other words were exchanged but nothing too major.) I had decided that me and the boys were going to eat without him. As I was putting stuff on the table, I thought I heard footsteps coming up the steps. (Now I had been imagining the garage door open several times, so I just figured it was my mind playing tricks on me.) But I turned around, and there stood Eric, grinning ear to ear. I couldn't figure out how he did this...this calling me and then being home. I thought he actually borrowed my neighbor's phone or something like that. He told me to reach into his pocket and there I found the most beautiful phone of all time....the Pink Motorola Razor!!! Note: The only reason we finally broke down and got a phone is because I'm doing the paper route 2-3 times a week, and our car is not too dependable these days. So it supposed to be strictly, "an emergency phone." (with free weekends!!!!!!)

Yellow roses!!!!!
I totally forgot to post this on my blog......AHHHH!!!! On Wednesday night, Eric pulled a muscle...oh, excuse me, I mean tore a muscle playing basketball. Well, he was limping around, and I, being the mean wife, didn't have too much sympathy for him. (He did go to basketball knowing that this could happen, Right?) He didn't go to work the next day until about 2:00. Anyway, that night for no necessary reason, he brought me home these beautiful flowers, which means he had to limp into a store and buy them for me. He also brought home SKYLINE too. I've never received yellow roses before, and I've always wanted them. He definitely got some brownie points for this!!! They're beautiful!!!
