Richi and Ana

I finally got to meet little Ana. She's absolutely adorable. She's my friend Richi's granddaughter, and she's 3 months old. I have only heard things about her, and was thrilled to finally get to meet her. She's as precious as Richi told me. But at the same time, it was so..what's the word?....different to hold a little girl. The younger boys were a little intrigued with her. They wanted to get close and touch her, but older boys were totally not impressed. They kept their distance. In fact, I had to bribe them to come close and say hello to her. She sure is cute though!!! I can't believe that I'm getting one of these precious little things!!!!

It's NSD!!!

That would be National Scrapbooking Day for all you non-scrappers out there!!! Sad, but true...we scrapbookers have our own holiday! It's basically a ploy to get more business for all the companies out there, but hey, it's still cool that we have our own "holiday" too.

So, you might be wondering what I did on NSD. Did I scrapbook??? Uhhhh...not yet, maybe some time tonight. It involved socks, lots of them. I went garage selling (or is it saling) with the two younger boys. I found lots of cool deals for the baby girl, and even a couple for Kaleb. We went to this one garage sale and they had a large ziploc bag full of socks.....colored socks. Well, you all should know how much Kaleb loves his socks, so the minute I showed him the socks...well, let's just say his face lit up, and there was no putting those back. He carried that bag everywhere with him. In the van, he had to be holding it. The minute we got home, he had to put a pair on. Normally I like to wash things from garage sales before my kids wear them, but you try telling that to a 2 year old sock obsessed child. It wasn't gonna happen. By the time he went to bed, he had changed his socks 5 TIMES. He loves those socks..For the baby girl, I found lots and lots of clothes. I tallied it up and think I got about 11 sleepers, 6 onesie/shirts, 7 outfits,a pair of shoes all in sizes 0-18 months, and I got Kaleb some pajamas too all for less than $25. I made out like a bandit!!
Well, I got one page almost done in time to celebrate NSD. I finished it after midnight while watching Pirates of the Carribean 2 (DUMB MOVIE - I guess you could say, I'm not a big Johnny Depp fan.) Well, it was Kaleb's birthday breakfast page, and he was not pleased with the candle in his waffle!! Here it is:

Camping

The older boys and their dad went camping with the men in our church this afternoon. They'll be home some time tomorrow. The boys have been counting it down by the hour until they could go. They are also going fishing for the first time. (It's free fishing weekend or something like that. You don't need a liscense.) They have little fishing poles and everything. They're gonna have so much fun. They'll most likely be the youngest kids there. I let them take my little camera which doesn't really work half the time. I hope it works for a couple of pictures at least, or I hope someone else gets a couple of pictures of them. .I also hope it doesn't rain on them either. Of course, the boys will have fun regardless if it rains. Last year they went camping with the men from the church and there was lots of fun including a marshmallow war!!! I'd love to capture that on film.

I think....

..that my kids might be getting tired of my new camera. I'm not sure what gave me this idea today, but well....just take a look at the pictures and have a chuckle! What do you guys think? Think they're getting sick of it?

Saying Goodbye

Well, I had anticipated this all season long, but it was never final until I read it on Yahoo tonight. I almost cried.I've watched it since the beginning. I have three of the seasons on DVD. I feel like I've grown up with Rory, and that Lorelei is one of my good friends. Okay now I've gone a little too far. But it is a show I thoroughly enjoy because of its witty dialogue. I'm just so disappointed, and I have a hard time believing that's it's going to finish strong since there is ONLY TWO EPISODES LEFT!!!!! What in the world?? Hope it comes through for me at the end like the old faithful friend that it is!

Stitches out!

Well, he got them out today. All's still well with his finger regardless of how gross it actually looks to me. I did take a picture of his finger, but I can't bring myself to post it...although it looks ten times better than when he first did it. He had only 5 stitches that weren't dissolvable, so it took the doctor seconds to pull them out. The doctor told Jakeb about the Stitch Fairy, and I about gagged. Why in heaven's name would I want his stitches. That's just gross, but he told Jakeb to stick them under his pillow at night and the fairy would come. Then he proceeded to wrap them in gauze and stick them in his pocket. BLECH!!
So instead, we went to Target and he picked out his CARnivore's car that he's been wanting for a while. I was so happy to see it there, and it was on sale. And then the moment we got home, no lie, he came into my room and asked if he could get rid of his stitches now. I was soooooooo relieved that I didn't have to deal with that.

Wally-world experience

If only you could have been there yesterday with us. You would have laughed hysterically! We had to go to Walmart to get my perscription filled so that I could start checking my blood. Now, you must realize that we went last Friday, but they didn't have them in stock. Then Eric went on Saturday and the pharmacy was closed for lunch.
So it's Monday, and I'm finally getting my perscription filled. I'm waiting for a minute and instructing the boys to sit on the little black bench and not to horseplay when all of a sudden I hear a blood curdling scream followed by a wail. I turn, and to my surprise Jakeb's face is beet red and tears are streaming down his face. I knew that no one had hit him or anything. He's screaming, "I don't like that POLE. I don't like that POLE there. Don't stand there!" Are you understanding what's going on?? Cause it took me a second too. There was a pole, kinda like a pillar that I was standing next to ...you know, one of the support beams to hold up the roof, and the poor kid went ballistic!!! I guess he thought the roof was gonna fall down.
Lately Jakeb has been scared of the silliest things, but I think that this one took the cake. And he just wouldn't calm down. He just kept screaming at the top of his lungs and crying frantically. Of course, I was trying not to laugh...okay, I was laughing. The boys were egging him on by standing closer to the pole causing only to scream more (of which I scolded them for that, trying unsuccessfully to keep a straight face.) People were staring. The pharmacy check-out lady thought I was horrible for laughing and for not comforting my kid who obviously had something wrong with him. I tried to explain over the screaming to her and everyone else around that it was simply the pole that he was crying about, but I don't think anyone got it, or maybe they simply couldn't hear me over the noise.
Finally, I had to threaten Jakeb with spankings if he didn't stop crying. I really think that the entire Super-Walmart could hear him. He was that loud. Finally he calmed down. I bought the stuff and left.......only to have to come back into the store with all four kids again five minutes later to switch out the lancets because they had given me the wrong ones. This time I had to wait for almost 15 minutes. I was a little nervous that Jakeb would start again with the screaming, but one stern look from me stopped that idea right away. Instead, I had some lady think I was psycho just for having 4 boys in the first place, and when she saw my belly.....well, let's just say....it's was obvious that she thought I had fallen off my rocker! You should have heard her...."Are all of those kids yours? Four boys? Another on the way?" The look on her face when I answered yes to all of those questions....well, let's just say it was priceless.

The wood park

I wanted to leave early for the game to give the kids some time to play at another park (and of course take more pictures). These are what I got today. The one above of Kaleb is my absolute favorite!! Blake found a caterpillar, well, actually I think Jakeb found it and alerted everyone by screaming, "Worm, Worm!!" Blake was instantly drawn to it. Luke was proud of himself because he mastered the fireman pole. He kept saying, "Take a picture of me, Mom!" There's also a little creek/water something..I'm not exactly sure what it is, but we had to cross it to get to the baseball field. The boys are always wanting to play there, but I'm so mean...I never let them. Maybe next time.

First T-ball game

The boys had their first t-ball game today. Can I just say...they looked like that acutally enjoyed it, at least most of the time they enjoyed it. I did catch Blake standing outfield without a glove or hat on because the ball wasn't coming to him, but then I also caught him running to get the ball when it did. Once we looked for Blake on the field, and we couldn't find him. Then we found him.....way way way outfield. I'm not sure what he was thinking, but it sure was funny! oh,a nd poor Blake...the kids sat on the bench in order of their numbers, and guess what!!! Blake was surrounded on both side by girls. He wasn't too impressed with that. Luke was loving t-ball too, but bless his little heart. When he puts the batter helmet on...well, like I said before..it just doesn't fit. And now that they have their baseball hats to wear underneath....well, after Luke ran to first base, he looked at me and said, "Mom, my ears hurt!" Poor little guys.
And I know you all want to know what Jakeb and Kaleb did while we were at the tball game. They were crazy out of control kids. This is what they did almost the whole time. When they weren't play wrestling, they were either throwing grass or rolling down the hills.
