Room Decorating

Okay, so we've changed our minds somewhat. We decided to have the older boys choose if they wanted a green camo room or a blue camo room. They both wanted a blue room, so we'll do that which is actually gonna be cheaper because we already have navy blue curtains that were specifically made for that room. (Thanks again Grandma Alma!) And the bedspreads are cheaper too. And we can always add a blue stripe to the wall and curtains like the original orange striped idea.
Then we've also decided not to move Jakeb and Kaleb to a new room. We'll just repaint their room and do something with it...cars, trains, or whatever. Then the baby girl will have Blake and Luke's room which might be smarter in the long run because it's on one end of the house. Originally we were gonna sandwich her in the middle of the boys rooms. Then, of course, we get the new addition. I've already got the colors and bedspread picked out for it. Aren't we selfish?)

So that's the plan as of right now. Who knows it might change again. However, we bought the paint for the baby girl's room. (We so need to finalize a name for her. Any ideas?) And hopefully, we'll get the older boys' blue today or sometime this week. So we could have musical rooms sometime in the next week or two. Yay!!! I love home improvement progress!!

I added a badge

I added a flickr badge to my sidebar, and I put my scrapbook pages on it. That way, I probably won't post as many pages on my blog because I know some people don't care about it that much...no names included. So everynow and then, just check out my flickr page if you want. I'll try to keep my pages on it.

Easter $$$$$

The boys' grandparents sent them $5 each for Easter, so I told them they could go to the store today and pick something out. Upon opening their cards yesterday, the boys tried to call their grandparents to tell them thank you. (that made me kinda proud because it wasn't even my idea. It was theirs. Too bad they weren't home when they called.)
Today, we went shopping. We found some Pirate of the Carribean stuff on clearance for $2, so Blake really lucked out. He got two of the big guys that they had plus we found some President flashcards...(you know he had to have those.) He got all of that for $5.97 plus tax. Luke found a Nemo paint set that he wanted along with some United States flashcards. Jakeb got a car....(he really starting to get into cars and trains and stuff like that.) And last, but not least, Kaleb found a singing Pablo from the Backyardigans on clearance. So, thanks T-Rex and Grandma Alma for the dough. The boys loved spending it.

The test results

Okay, remember a couple of days ago when i said th ob doctor's office called and said that I had gestational diabetes. Normally, after failing the one hour test, you woul go and take the 3 hour glucose test to make sure you have it. The ob said that since I failed so miserably I should just skip the three hour test and go straight to the endocrinologist. So I set up an appointment for last Monday, got a babysitter, and went to the endocrinologist. I sat in that stupid waiting room for 45 minutes and then in the actual room for another 45 minutes only to have this doctor tell me that I need to take the 3 hour glucose test that my ob said to skip. Now you must understand that Monday was a hectice day. I had dropped the kids off at the Hall's house, gone to my appointment at 2:00, and I needed to be back to my house before 5:00 because we had to go over to the Floyd's house for dinner, not to mention my mom was going to be at my house to babysit at 4:30. Needless to say, I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off! I ended up getting home at about 4:45 barely catching my mom before she left again.
So yesterday, I went to the my ob and took the 3 hour test. Talk about not fun. I had my blood drawn, drank the nasty drink again, and then for the next three hours on the dot had my blood drawn again. Blech!!! So I had my blood drawn 4 times, but I have four needle holes in my arms and hands because I do not have veins that cooperate very well.
Anyways, the doctor's office called me this morning and told me that I...okay, you have to understand I do not really have the time to deal with the whole gestational diabetes. I have to count my carbs, remember to prick my finger a couple of hours after each meal, and possibly give myself insulin shots. It was hard to remember to do all that stuff with just one kid, I can't imagine what it will be like to do it with 4 kids. Well, like I said, the nurse from the doctor's office called, and told me that although one of my levels was high, I DO NOT have gestational diabetes!!!! One level is completely normal to be high. Talk about a roller coaster ride! I was so excited!!!! I'm still completely pumped. I think I might have even screamed on the phone...Whoo-hee!!! So even though it was a completely hectic week at the doctor's offices, it was so well worth it now to find out I don't have it!!! Once again it proves that God answers prayers. I can still drink my Dr. Pepper!!!!! In fact, I think I might go get one right now!!!!

the latest, but not greatest

Here's my latest scrapbook pages that I actually like. The one with Kaleb and all the flowers makes me laugh. I dont' usually make girly pages for my kids. Sure, I might use flowers every now and then, but not this many....but man, the kid has a purse fetish, and so I thought a little girliness was slightly appropriate. Can you blame me??
The other one is just of some cute pictures of him last April or March of some funny faces he used to make....and yes, the pictures are supposed to be crooked. (I found this idea in a magazine, so I thought I would give it a try!)

a love/hate relationship w/ cookies

Our church finished out their Sunday School campaign with an
other bowling afternoon with all the kids after church on Sunday. This time, they had cookies.....lots of cookies. I have no idea how many cookies my kids ate, but I know that Kaleb must have eaten a lot because we he woke up from his nap, he was crying and coughing and holding his stomach. Then he would actually lean over the garbage can as though he was gonna toss his cookies, no pun intended. So he stayed home from church on Sunday night. However, about 5 or 10 minutes after his daddy left, he did his duty in his diaper, and amazingly enough felt better to run around and play! So I don't know if he played me or not, but he sure is cute in this picture, huh?

Spring BREAK

First off, we didn't have school; so that made Blake and Luke happy. Then we met up with some friends at the mall that has two play areas. We were there for a couple of hours, then we went back to their house for ice cream and more play time.

a dream

Luke must have had a dream about food last night because about 2:00 in the morning while we were still watching the Notebook, we hear Luke say, or should I say yell, "I'm hungry!!!!" We actually thought he was awake, and we waited for him to ask for some food or something. Much to our surprise, we never heard anything else because he was talking in his sleep!

the Notebook

I watched this movie on Saturday night for the first time since watching it in the theater a couple of years ago. I loved it so much then, and talked it up a whole bunch. I was worried that I if I did watch it, I wouldn't like it as much as I did back then. I've had the movie for over a year, but still enver watched it. I finally broke down and popped it in my computer tonight to watch while I was scrapbooking!!! Oh my word!! It's still the most romantic movie of all time. I loved it. It was everything that I remembered, and more.
After watching it, I was telling Eric about it and wonderful it was. Now let me let you in on a little secret. Eric says that he doesn't like chick flicks or romantic movied, but while he's watching them, he's very into them. Then at the end of the movie, it's like clockwork...no matter how good or how bad the movie is, he'll say: "That's a stupid movie!" Well, Eric had never watched the Notebook, and actually had no intentions to watch the movie. But for some unknown reason, he gave me one of his ultimatums. He said that he would watch the movie tonight with me, but if I fell asleep during it, then he would quit watching it. And this would be he only offer to watch it with me....ever.
Now you must know that it's about 1:00 in the morning, so if we did watch the movie it would be over sometime after 3:00. Plus I had just watched it. But, well, it's that good of a movie!!! So I accepted it, and we watched it. He asked questions all through out it like who Ali chose and why so and so did that. He was very intrigued; but then like clockwork, at the end of the movie he said his famous lines, "That was a stupid movie!" But I know the truth, he liked it just as much as I did. He just doesn't want to admit it to anyone!

Kaleb figured it out...finally!

A long time ago when Kaleb was in his crib, I heard a thud, and there was Kaleb rubbing his head. He climbed out of bed with a not so happy ending. Well, tonight after we put the kids to bed, we hear Jakeb screaming....."Kaleb's climbed out of his bed by himself!!! Kaleb climbed out of his bed by himself!" Now recently, the boys have been helping him out of his bed, but since they were all in bed, I'm pretty sure they were not involved because there has been trouble with that before resulting in a not so comfortable bottom.

So, all of a sudden, down comes Kaleb and Jakeb down to the basement where we are. Kaleb has this humongous smile on his face. He's quite proud of himself. I can't help but smile too. I send him into his dad's office, so Eric can see how proud the little kid is of himself. Then, we told him he had to go back to bed. It was amazing! He went from being one the top of a mountain to the lowest valley. He lower lip puckered out and his eyes started to well up with tears. But well, up he went, and back to bed, crying all the way! Bless his heart.

PS. For all you people wondering...Why is Kaleb still in a crib?.... Well, I didnt' want to buy another toddler bed for him, so Eric is making Jakeb and Kaleb bunk beds. They are getting closer and closer to being done, so it shouldn't be too much longer.
