New bedding

So this is sad. I bought a new playpen for the baby, so that way we can have one upstairs and then downstairs in the school room. The colors are aqua and brown. (The stock photo's color is not accurate. I promise it's brown and aqua.) I'll be putting the pretty one in our room upstairs in our bedroom for the first couple of months which in no way should have justified me buying THIS for our room, but I did anyways. Along with a little rearranging of furniture, it's soooooooooo pretty!

Here's what the room used to look like in case you forgot. I liked the red, but I like it soooo much better now!

Digital Scavenger Hunt

Our Sunday School class had a Digital Scavenger Hunt yesterday, and here's just of the few things that we had to take pictures of ourselves doing.....

I'm floored!

Most of you all know that our church is meeting in a school building. We have started our own building and hope to be in it by the end of the year....hopefully summer. But the problem was....it wasn't going to be complete. We were actually short some of the funds not to mention money for flooring, pews, and painting...and all that other stuff that goes in to furninshing a building.

Tonight God showed his goodness and blessing to us all. A foundation donated a HUGE SUM of money to our church this past week, so we'll be able to complete the building!!!! Who-hooo!!!!!

I would say that God answers prayers, but He always does this...just maybe not in the way that we want. But He also TRULY works miracles in today's world. And then He pours blessings upon blessings upon us too.

Life

It's been quite a day. This morning started out with Blake running in and telling me that Kaleb peed in his bed. Hey, he's four...it happens. I told Blake to take the sheets off the bed. After I got up, I started trying to get caught up on some long over-due laundry only to find out that I had washed a crayon in with the clothes which wasn't so bad except that I had found the crayon in the dryer. In case you couldn't figure out....crayons melt in the dryer leaving streaks all over the dryer and on your clothes. AHHHHHH!!! Then I went up and grabbed the pile of blankets on the floor and washed and dried those only to find MORE CRAYONS all over the bedspread. You would think that I would start checking clothes by now. But anyways, by this point I was LIVID. I was seriously almost crying because the bedspread wasn't that old. (Now grant it, after washing it and inspecting it again. I only found crayon in one spot that's obvious. So life does go on, but the clothes......I haven't gotten back to those. Anyone know how to get crayon out of clothes??)
Okay besides that, we had to make another run to Kohl's to exchange Eric's shoes which I personally think is a funny story in itself, and since it's my blog I'm telling it. I've been buying Eric tennis shoes for close to 10 years. I have ALWAYS bought him size thirteens. However, he told me the other day he needed new ones. I asked what size and he said 12. I questioned this, but he insisted that he wore twelves. I started to doubt myself and started to feel bad that I've been buying him shoes that were too big for this long, but I still wasn't too sure about the whole size 12 thing. Since I had a coupon for Kohls we went there to pick out some shoes for Daddy. While there, I called just to confirm that he wore 12. He was insistent, and even checked his brown casual shoes that he was wearing, and said 12 again. So I asked the sales associate to get me a size 12 so we could be out of there. We got home, and that night when he tried them on.....they didn't fit. They were TOO SMALL! So we went back today to exchange them for 13s. And although there is sooooo much more I could say, I'm gonna leave it at just that.
Let's see...what else...oh, look who decided to sleep in her big girl bed tonight.

She'll hate me one day for the one on the left, but it sure is funny, huh? The one on the right is from today during the whole caterpillar craze.

Caterpillars

Took a trip to the park today. Caterpillars were everywhere on the trees, and that, of course, made the boys super excited. Shoot, Makenna even got in on the excitement. I was sure that she was gonna pull one apart. Amazingly enough, she didn't although she dropped a few.

Fossil Park

The boys had a blast at the Fossil Park today. Eric's boss told him about this place which is only minutes from our house. They've been begging and begging to go, so we finally made the trip.

Young's Dairy Farm

We went to Young's Dairy Farm today with our co-op. It was quite a drive from our house, but the kids liked it. We learned a lot about cows and of course got to enjoy some of their homemade ice cream there.

Look what the new baby got...

If you know me at all, you know that one of my favorite colors is ORANGE. I know it's a little weird, but I love it. (I think it's compliments of my collegian Sigma Gamma Rho in college...GO CONQUERORS!)Brown is also a color up there near the top too.
I know that I already bought a car seat, but when I first found out I was pregnant, I told myself that I really wanted an orange car seat, and my friend Amy sent me the link to this one on Craig's List a while ago. I wrote the person, and never heard back, so didn't get too depressed because I already had a car seat and didn't really need a new one. THEN the lady wrote me back over a week and a half later, telling me it was still available. So....I took it as a sign from God to get it. (Now, I just have to sell the other one.) Isn't it happy?? The picture doesn't even do it justice. (Betsy, admit it... YOU LOVE IT!)

Children's choir

Here's the kids singing for Mother's Day. The loud noise in the middle is pastor moving the podium, so the moms on the other side of the church could see.

Trip to the zoo

Today we had a field trip with some other homeschooling moms from church to the zoo. At breakfast I tried to lay down the law with my boys. You see, the are the only boys at church between the ages of 4-8. Everyone else has girls. You've seen the children's choir videos. They are the only guys. Poor guys, and you all know how much they love girls. Well, this morning I said..."Guys, you just have to face it, you're the only guys at church right now. If there were other boys your ages there, I would make field trips with their moms too, but there's not so get over it. Our field trips are gonna be with girls only right now." Well, three out of four boys listened quite well, and got along remarkably well with all the girls. Shoot, I'm still shocked. And the one boy who didn't listen definitely throw a fit or anything about having to go, so he got brownie points too.
Three of the four families that went

The insect world which was probably the kids' favorite place to bee....haha get it?..."bee" (Eric is soooo rubbing off on me.)

Proof that my boys might be possibly getting over the whole not liking girls thing

More proof (Sorry the above two pictures are blurry. I was pretty much trying to chase them all around without being too obvious because I didn't want make a big deal out of them hanging with the girls.)
Makenna not to impressed with sharing her brother with another girl
This was the coolest monkey ever. He put on a show for us swinging form the branches, posing for the camera, peeing on the glass, and then walking up to Makenna and standing right in front of her with his hands on the glass just like her. (Of course, I missed the last part, but I got a picture of him right when he stepped away. Oh, and I started to video him swinging, but like I said...he put on a show and I got him peeing on the window instead. Lovely!)

and a little clip from the peeing monkey. Of course, Jakeb thought it was downright hilarious!

Random picture

I had just gotten my digital camera toward the end of 2004, so I didn't have a lot of folders for 2004, so I picked a random photo from the ONE folder that I had.

When there was just barely four of them.

Which one do like better? **UPDATED**

I can't decide. I like them all, but I'm not gonna tell you which one I like better! But I do like these better than the matching one that actually matches the crib bedding, plust that one is really expensive, and I don't want to spend that much money on it. You see...two of the ones below are a bed in a bag so it comes with everything, and the other one...well, it's not...everything is SEPARATE which makes it pricey.

Don't forget...this is what the room looks like. The furniture has been moved around a bit to make room for Makenna's new castle bed. For instance the crib is over where the changing table was, and Makenna's new bed is where the crib was with the changing table in between in front of the window. My main goal is to find something that already matches the room without having to do anything to it.

Oh and here's the baby bedding.

Oh, and then there's the other question...Do I buy two of them so that the girls' bedding will match one day or do I take a chance and not buy one and hope they don't discontinue it in a few years? AHHH!!!!! Too many decisions!
