Not Me Monday & Project 365

Well, it's that time of the week again when I'm honest and tell you all the things that I absolutely DID NOT do this past week. And I can honestly say that well, over half of my not me's do not revolve around doctors or waiting rooms.

I did not laugh when my daughter insisted on putting her feet on the table while eating lunch over and over again. I also did not laugh when my son Blake was getting completely grossed out by the whole foot thing. (He does not like feet.) I did not encourage Makenna to keep doing it just so I could get a good picture of it for Project 365. (Project 365, Day 6)

Oh, here's a good one. I promise that I did NOT deny knowing my husband when he was talking very firmly to the receptionist at my OB doctor's office. He was NOT at all upset that I had to wait over an hour just to get called back. He did not actually almost have steam coming out of his ears. I was not sitting off to the back of where he was, slightly out of sight of him denying that he was my husband. I did not NOT want to be associated with the crazy screaming man and then become "THAT WOMAN WITH THE IRATE HUSBAND." I did not feel guilty when the doctor was looking at his list of patients trying to figure out who's husband it was especially after I denied even to him that it was NOT my husband. I did NOT feel so guilty that I finally 'fessed up that it was my husband because I as much as I did NOT want to be "THAT WOMAN" I also did NOT want someone else have to be "THAT WOMAN." Upon not admitting that it was my husband, I did not start laughing when the doctor said, "Well, what does he think this is.....a McDonald's?" I also did not grab my belongings. cover my face with hand, and rush by my husband as he is still going off on the poor, poor receptionist lady. Now, truly in my husband's defense.....he DID call later that afternoon on his own free will, and apologized to the poor receptionist lady. See, he righted his wrong. He's a good man!)

In Master Clubs on Wednesday night, we definitely would never have allowed to kids to lounge on the mats while we had the lesson time. That would be just horrible. What kind of leader would I be if I didn't make them sit up straight and tall with their Bibles in their laps at all times? (Project 365 - Day 7)

I also did not get my boot off this week with instructions from the doctor to occasionally still wear it especially when I'm out shopping. I have faithfully worn it each and every time that I went shopping. I would definitely always do what the doctor ordered. I have not NOT worn it since that day in the doctor's office. It has not been sitting in the middle of the floor in my room almost like a shrine. (Day 8 of Project 365)

On Friday, I had to take my kids to the dentist. Eric actually had a crown come off the night before, and the dentist office said that he could come in too, and they would fix it. We drove separate cars. Now here's where the Not me comes in. I did NOT take the express lane in hopes to get there faster. I did secretly really want to get up there faster just so I could stop at Starbucks and get a Frappucino. I did NOT keep a look-out for Eric as I was sitting in the drive thru lane. And I most definitely DID NOT tell the kids to DUCK DOWN when I saw Eric. I also did not duck down simply because I did not want him to see me there getting what my heart so desired. I was not 2 minutes late for our appointment because I stopped at Starbucks.
I did not wait almost a month to take Kaleb to the dentist. I did not figure that since I already had an appointment for the boys in January that I did NOT need to make another appointment for Kaleb even if his tooth was turning BLACK. He does not have to have a hole drilled in the back of his tooth, and have all the dead nerve removed, and who knows what else. Bless his little heart. He did not make another appointment for him in three more weeks because that was the only time the dentist could get both me and him in. (Day 9 of Project 365)

I also did not allow my children to play with the toys in the waiting room like they play with them at home. There were not toys strewn all over the waiting room of the dentist office. No way! (Once again...in my defense this time...we did pick them all up before we left.)

We did not take all the kids on Saturday to the flea market to traipse all over. They all had naps, so they had such a great time. (Project 365 - Day 10)

And my favorite one.....I positively did not ignore my daughter in nursery yesterday morning that she had to go and find comfort in the arms of another...and a boy at that. (Day 11 of Project 365)

Good week! Very funny! I especially liked when Erin "did not" go off on the receptionist! Too funny! We had the same thing happen at my appointment a week ago... had to wait til nearly 1:15, and my appointment was at noon! I feel his pain! And... loved the pic of Makenna hugging the little boy! Too sweet! And... finally, the new Peanut Alma is looking good! When will we find out boy or girl....? March?

Congratulations. You are amazing! Tell Eric way to go (I mean on telling off the receptionist). Do you still go to Northeast? I love Dr. Sullivan and Dr. Fackler.
Later...
