Introducing the Alma Acrobats!

Here's a few of video clips of my kids doing some acrobats. They're each about a minute or two. They sure did make me laugh. And you should see the kids watch themselves on the screen. That would make another cute video because they just sit there cackling at themselves. They think they're hilarious. Normally the kids are not allowed to jump on the furniture, but there are exceptions every now and then, right?

Oh, and for those of you wondering where Blake is....well, he's coloring his Incredible Hulk coloring book that his Grandma Alma found him for Christmas. That is so much cooler than doing acrobats to him!

Height

So, I was reading online, and found a height predictor. You type in your kid's age, height, and weight; and they give you their estimated height(within 1-3 inches)at age 18. I've heard that when a child is two, you simply double their height, and that is how tall they will be. I thought it was pretty cool. Regardless I put all the kids heights in. They gave me this rough estimate:
Blake’s height - 6 feet, 0 inches
Luke’ height - 6 feet, 3 inches
Jakeb’s height - 6 feet, 1 inches
Kaleb’s height. - 6 feet, 0 inches
I look forward to seeing if this comes true or not. Eric was really hoping that all the kids would be at least as tall as he is if not taller. Too bad, I'm from a short family.

Cleaning

I just can't get it done! I hate to clean, and it never seems to fail that when I do clean something in less than 5 minutes it looks awful again. Seriously, five minutes! Laundry is always piled up although I do it quite often, but it never seems to fail there's tons more to always do. ARGH!!!!
I know it's my fault. I wake up too late, so that by the time we start school and start the day, it always seems half over. I'm just so tired all the time. I'm gonna try to make myself a schedule, and stick with it for just one week, and see if things get done around the house.

another page

I did this page while watching I love Lucy reruns (thanks to my in-laws buying me season 1 for Christmas) and watching 2 episodes of Remington Steele season 3. Normally, it doesn't take me that long to finish one layout, but I wasn't really in the mood, and I started to really get into Remington Steele! Gotta love Pierce!!!

Anyways, it's the pickle juice story of Blake and his $16. I was gonna put the journaling behind the big pictures, so you could pull it out and read it, but I figured...who would really do that to often? and then they would just wonder why we make our children drink pickle juice.

So, my husband must love me!

He definitely must love me. I know that this is gonna sound crazy, but I love Remington Steele. I loved it when I was a kid, and I still love it. I've always thought that Pierce was...what's the word.... dreamy. When I discovered that they were putting them on DVD's, I wanted them all. Last Christmas I got season one. My birthday this year, I got season two. Then for no reason, Eric ordered me seasons three - five last week. I got them today. So excited to watch them because I know that I've not watched every episode ever made.
Oh, here's another reason I know he loves me. Today, Eric came home at about 12:00. I, of course, just freaked out. I thought he got laid-off or something. Then I found out that he had been trying to get ahold of me since 9:00. He called the home phone, my cel phone, and even emailed me. Turns out that the home phone had a toy on top of it which hit the on button causing the phone to be off the hook, then it went dead. My cel phone was on silent, and I didn't check my email. So he thought something must of happened. Even my mom had called him asking where I was. So he was pretty stressed out by the time he got home. Needless to say, he was relieved to find me alive and well doing school work with the boys.
Anyway, it's great to know that he cares.

I scrapbooked!

Well, I've finally scrapbooked. It's been close to 5 months, maybe even longer since I've scrapbooked any pictures. This page isn't completely finished though. In the blank spot on the right hand page, I plan on doing some journaling, but I'll have to ask Blake to remind me a little about what exactly happened. Of course, it's on my blog somewhere, so maybe I'll just go look it up. Anyways, the important thing is that I'm trying to get back in the groove of scrapbooking because I have less than 6 months to scapbook a year of four children. My goal is to be completely caught up by the time the new baby is born.

Blake's first game

Blake's first basketball game was today. He did a great job. He actually seemed a little excited about it although he would never admit it to anyone. Last night he had practice. Eric took him and dropped him off which seemed to work better than to say with him with all five of us watching. He seemed to have more confidence. Eric and I were both amazed at how well all the kids did.

Here's some pictures of his first game. He's number 4!

Basketball

Blake has started basketball. There is no other way to put it, but....well...he hates it. He cries when he finds out he has to go. He says that he's not gonna play. When he gets to practice he cries more, and just stands there on the side. If someone throws him the ball, he does nothing. If the coach tells him to do something, anything....he still does nothing. It's not going well!
He was supposed to have practice today. And when he found out he was a little glum. As I was making plans with Eric to pick him up from basketball practice, we received a phone call. It was the coach's wife telling us that practice was cancelled. I asked Blake if he had prayed that basketball would be cancelled, and he said, "Yeah, in my head!" Well, you can't say that God doesn't answer prayers regardless how small or unimportant they might seem to us.
Too bad Blake has practice on Friday, and his first game on Saturday. He is so gonna freak out!

February 1st

So next week at this time, this is pretty much what Baby Alma #5 will look like. He/she will have fingernails, toenails, eyebrows, and hair (although Alma babies have very limited hair when they come out). His/her teeth and bones are becoming stonger, and he/she might even begin to suck his/her thumb by this time.
I had a doctor's appointment today, and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time. Last couple of times, I just saw the heartbeat on sonogram machine. I also made my appointment for next month February 1st. We will be finding out the sex of the baby then. We're getting pretty excited about it. Of course Daddy and the boys want another boy, but mommy wouldn't mind a girl. Either way, we'll be thrilled with whatever we have.

Happy New year!!!!

Well, a new year has come upon us, and a old year is past and gone. It seemed to fly. It's funny how when you're a little kid the years seem to creep by so slowly, but when you're grown up they seem to fly. In fact, they seem to get shorter and shorter. There's never enough hours in the day to get everything done that needs to be done.
This year I have yet another list of "resolutions" although I would rather call them "hopes of things to get done." That way they don't sound so permament like I "have" to do them because it never seems to fail, if there is something that I feel like I "have" to do, then I always wait to the last minute to get it done, and usually I never get it done the way it should have been done in the first place. Yes, I'm a procrastinator, a horrible one. I've always been one. There was many a nights in college that I stayed up over half the night just to get a project done. I like to say that I work better under pressure, but in reality, I don't. I stress out way too much, and then take it out on anyone who gets in my way.
Anyway, let me get off that rabbit trail......back to my "hopes" of 2007.
1. Read the Bible daily, and get completely through it.
I'm ashamed to say that I don't think I've ever read the Bible through completely in a year. So, the plan is to read it throughout the year which will also help me grow closer to God.
2. Fight with Eric less.
Most of the fights, a.k.a. discussions, are started by me. Half of the time they might never even happen if I would just swallow my pride.
3. After the baby is born, to lose whatever weight I can. (See, I have realistic goals. I'm not gonna try to lose an obscene amount of weight, just whatever I can.)
4. Spend more time "playing" with the children.
A lot of time it seems that I'm too "busy" to just play with the kids. Believe me, the housework can wait. It's always there.
5. Eat out less. We really could save a lot of money if we would just not eat out too much. I just have to learn to enjoy cooking a little more!

Well, that's it. I'm not gonna have a list of twenty things that I know will never happen, but I'll try to adhere to these throughout the year. Hope you all have a great year!!!
