God answers prayers.

So, my grandma...the boys' great Grandma has a cat. She moved in with my mom about 6 months ago. Last time we went to my mom's house...it smelled! It smelled like yucky cat. We found out that they had bought "cheap" kitty litter.

Well, on the way to their house on Wednesday, Blake kept worrying that it would smell again. We had stopped at Wendy's for lunch, and they were going to eat it in the car. I had Blake pray, and here is how his prayer went:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day.
Thank you for this food.
Thank you for our house.
Please don't let it stink at Grandma's house.
In Jesus name, Amen.

Well, we got to my mom's house, and the first thing we all noticed was that it didn't STINK! God answered a little 6 year old's prayer!!!

Kaleb and his daddy

Now everyone who knows Kaleb, knows he's a "momma's boy." But I don't know...these pictures can almost prove that wrong. He sure does love his daddy too, especially when Daddy lets him sit on his shoulders.

Singing

This is the kids singing Zaccheus was a wee little man.......Even Kaleb gets into the motions. They love this song.....

PS. Hey, Myk, this one's for you!!!

Kaleb is TWO!

Today was Kaleb's birthday. He was so cute when you asked him how old he was. He would say one, and then hold up his fingers for you to form the number two on his hand. If you asked him who's birthday it was, he would say..."mine."
We started out morning with candles in his chocolate chip waffles. (Thanks, Stacy, for the idea!) However, Kaleb was not impressed with the candles. He like them when they weren't lit. When they were lit, he would throw a little fit. And if we took the candles out of the waffle....well, let's just say that was a big no-no too. Then we vegged out at home all day. (I was a little sneaky and gave him a couple of his presents this afternoon.)

Then when Eric got home, we went to Chick-fil-A. They have a playland there, and Kaleb likes it. We then came home for cake and ice cream. Well, actually it was an ice cream cake! YUMMY!!! Then he opened his presents. Actually, I think he opened his presents first. He got a lot of Diego stuff, and his grandparents gave him money to buy T.J. Bearytales. He thought it was all very exciting.

Thanksgiving had come and gone

I can't believe another Thanksgiving has come and gone. Seriously, where has the time gone. We went up to Michigan for Thanksgiving this year where we enjoyed a feast prepared by Eric's mom. It was awesome! The kids love going to Grandma Alma's house.
Here's a picture of Kaleb completely tuckered out by the time it's lunch time!
And here's one of all the grandkids.......Six kids, six and under......soon to be Seven kids, six and under!!!
Here's a fun picture of all the grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa! I love this one.

Yet another cute kid in my family...LUKE

Here's the pictures I took of Luke for the church calendar. Poor kid! I made him go outside in the cold so I could take these pictures. I'm such a bad mom! But, Man! I have cute kids!!!!

I love this song!

I heard this song the other day for the first time, and immediately thought of my dad, especially when it said..."listen to stories of saints new and old" because for those of you who don't know my dad couldn't hear when he lived on this earth, but now he's up there singing and listening to stories not only from the saints, but from Jesus Himself.

Mark Harris - "Wish You Were Here"
From the album The Line Between The Two
(copied from KLOVE)
I wanted to tell you how closely I've keptThe memories of you in my heart
And all of the lifetimes that we had to share
Live even though we're apart
But don't cry for me
'Cause I'm finally free
(Chorus)
To run with the angels
On streets made of gold
To listen to stories of saints new and old
To worship our Maker
That's where I'll be
When you finally find me
No don't you be weary cause waiting for you
Are wonders that you've never known
Just hold on to Jesus, reach out for his hands
And one day they'll welcome you home
And that's when you'll be
Finally free
Finally free
(Chorus)
I wish you were here,
I wish you were here
And all of the dreams that you treasure
Will soon come together
And that's when your sorrow will find tomorrow
And you will rise again
(Chorus)
We'll run with the angels on streets made of gold
We'll listen to stories of saints new and old
We'll worship our maker that's where we'll be
When you finally find me I wish you were here

How cute are these?????

I'm working on some our church calendar, and this year we are using the children for each month. These are the pictures I took of Jakeb and a little girl named Morgan today. They are most likely going to be the February kids. Aren't they just adorable???

Luke's new name for the baby......

ZACCHEUS ....after the song "Zaccheus was a wee little man, and a wee little man was he!" I'm not too sure about that. However, it's better than Blake's new name for the baby.....ABRAHAM LINCOLN!

Gilmore Girls Season three

Okay, So I've been watching Gilmore Girls since it came on the air almost 6 years ago. I love it. It's been one of my top 5 shows all that time. Eric has bought me season 1 and 2 last year for various reasons like birthdays or Christmas. Well, today I was at Target and they had seasons 1,2, and 3 for $14.88. There was absolutely no way I was gonna pass that one up since they are normally anywhere from $25-$45. Pretty excited about that purchase.

Anyway, Gilmore Girls right now has me slightly disturbed sin Lorelai just got married to Christopher, Rory's father, while they were in Paris together. I mean, seriously, what about LUKE?????
How mad is Rory gonna be when she finds out her parents got married without her? I've been watching this show for almost 6 years....I DESERVE TO SEE LORELAI'S WEDDING TOO!!!
But on a funnier note, it cracked me up when Zack thought Lane and him were having Siamese twins!!! Only Zack!

Jakeb's bumps

This kid is hilarious. So last night, I was getting ready to put Jakeb to bed. He looks at me with this weird face and said, "I have bumps." At first, I wasn't quite sure what he was talking about. Then I kept watching him. Every few seconds he would start to hiccup and chuckle. His "bumps" were HICCUPS!!

These kept him laughing for awhile. He even had to tell his Daddy about the "bumps." And then when they went away.....he was a little let down. I don't think I've ever met any person who's ever been let down to NOT have hiccups. Know what I mean?

My Birthday continued....

On Monday, a couple of my friends, Amy and Terani, took me to my favorite restauraunt, TOOT'S, for my birthday. They even surprised me with presents, a Starbucks mug (I've wanted one forever.) with a gift certificate, and a book by Francine Rivers. Oh, and I got a balloon too. It was so nice of them. We had a really enjoyable time just chillin' and talking about everything and nothing all at the same time.

After Toot's, we went to Costco to introduce Amy to it because she had never been there before. My crazy friend, Terani is a hoot. Just check out the crazy stuff she does in the store! She cracks me up. She might be even crazier than me!!!! I know that might be hard to believe, but it's a pretty tough call.

We also went to Walmart, but that wasn't that exciting, but it was a great evening, and I had a great birthday especially since it spanned over 3 days!

My Birthday

Well, I'm officially "29." Not too excited about it, but it's true. One less than a year shy from 30. BLECH! Oh well...such is life. My birthday went pretty well. It was on Sunday, but Eric and I celebrated on Saturday. He had just got back from our church's men's retreat. Some of the guys told him that he HAD to go to this restauraunt called Tony Roma's where they had "all-you-could-eat-ribs" for $21.99. Well, that caught his fancy, so he was insisting that we go there. I kept thinking that it was too much money to go there, but he wanted to. He checked on-line to look at their website to make sure he knew where they were located, but couldn't find the website, so he called. No answer. This restauraunt was 20-25 minutes away, and I kept saying......"let's just go somewhere cheaper. It's fine." But NOOOOOOO, we had to go to "Tony Roma's" becaus everyone had said how wonderful it was!!!! We drove all the way out there, and like you are probably suspecting....it was CLOSED!!!! I laughed so hard. We ended up just going to Olive Garden where you get a little piece of heaven on earth because their chicken alfredo is so mouth watering!

Since my birthday was on Sunday, people at church were constantly telling me 'happy birthday." Pastor and Tim Davidson actually sang in perfect harmony after church to me. It was pretty cool. There was a wedding shower for a friend of mine who's getting married in just a couple of weeks, so I wanted to go to that. The lady who hosted it makes the best food, and since it was right after church, she made an entire lunch for us. I doubt that I could have eaten out anywhere that was as good as that. After the shower, I went home and took a nap. I had gotten home from work the night before at 4:00 in the morning, so I was exhausted.

After church that night, we went to Red Robin with a slew of people from church. I think there was over 20 of us all together. It was great. Such a good time.

FAMILY

I can't believe I forgot to tell everybody to run out and buy this book!!! It's awesome! It's the best one yet in the Firstborn Series by Karen Kingsbury. And the chapter that they give you for the next book is pure torture because you get to whet your lips with what is to come only to have to wait until MARCH to actually read it.

If you haven't read this series, walk, no RUN to the store and get it. But get the Redemption Series first. Then get the Firstborn series. It's actually one big series, but regardless, READ THESE BOOKS!!!!!
Absolutely some of the best reading in them.

Praying or Pouting?

We went to Chik-fil-a the other day. Blake decided that he didn't want to share his mayonnaise with Jakeb anymore, so he kept trying to open his own packet. He handed it to me, and I told him to leave it alone. He could just share with Jake because there was plenty. He decided not to listen to me because next thing I know....I'm squirted with mayonnaise across my chest and my face!!!! I was so not impressed. I calmly wiped myself clean, and told him that he was supposed to put it down and not mess with it . He then proceeded to continue to mess with it, and ended up squirting it across the table onto Jakeb now. Jakeb had it in his hair.
I explained to Blake that I had told him not to do this, and that he disobeyed. We finished eating and the boys went to play except for Blake. He kept sitting in the booth just like this. I asked him why he was sitting like this and he said that he was "in trouble." (He must have inflicted his own punishment of a "time-out" on himself because I never did.) I waited for a few moments and asked him, "What are you doing?" He answered, "Praying!"

Jakeb's first dentist visit

Jakeb went back to watch Luke get his teeth clean. He wasn't too excited about getting his own teeth clean. In fact, he kept saying he wasn't going to do it. Then it was his turn. I went back with him, and the hygenist suggested that he sat on my lap while they did it. Well, that worked for Jakeb. He was such a big boy getting his teeth clean. After the cleaning, I got up to take some pictures of Jake with the dentist.

Another Fall day!!!!

Today was another nice day outside. Eric encouraged me to go outside with the boys. I knew I should, so got the boys ready, and out we went. They had so much fun playing in the leaves again. Jakeb really got into it this time. He was jumping from the top of the slide into the pile of leaves which caused everyone to want to do this which caused everyone to fight over the slide. Note: the pictures of the them wrestling on the slide. So I got a little picture happy outside. Can I help it if my kids are so stinking cute!!!!
Jakeb's close-up. All the other ones I took of him, he's wriggling so much that they are all blurry!
Luke said, "Watch me, Mom!" as he slid down the slide head first!!!!
Kaleb was not in a picture taking mood. This is one of the best ones I got of him today.
Blake as King of the Slide!
Kaleb did not want to get his picture taken. He's so cute when he's pouting!

Blake's close-up
SUPER-JAKEB taking his huge leap of into the leaves!

The boys fighting over who gets to go first down the slide.

The boys deciding that they would all go down the slide first!
